As a general rule I love flying but I usually only do it for holidays. I have trouble sleeping in the plane though. People are always telling me to take a sleeping tablet when I fly but never having had one in my life I'm reluctant to and also what happens if there is an emergency and they can't wake you up?

He's at home. My mum lives in same suburb. Its either that or fly. I can't do it. I want to. But i can't.
You are more likely to get murdered by this bloke than die in a plane crash. That said, you'll probably go to the beach when you get home and get attacked by a shark so I dunno

So travel update.

Still stuck in Pt Augusta and what a wonderful town it is. Not. Think bogan city. Nice enough but not exactly the most intelligent people youve ever met. But i digress. Anyhoo. I thought i had struck gold. I remembered a friend was driving back from QLD in a truck with her boyfriend to Perth. Thought i could catch a lift with them. It's only a 2 seater she says but if you can get a rental car you can drive with us. No rental car anywhere. Sigh.

I've reverted to putting signs up eveywhere. My life has come to this. Merry xmas eveyone!
I find the fact that you are scared of planes, but are willing to hitchhike, quite disconcerting.

Good luck Perth gal. I hope you get home soon one way or another. Take care though, don't get a lift with any strangers.

Hey Perth gal try the local caravan park. There's always grey nomads moving across from Port Augusta to the west even if you get to Kalgoorlie. All you can do is ask.

The way I see it if there's an emergency on a plane you're screwed anyway so better to be asleep. If it requires you to get off the plane quickly because of a fire or something, do you really think everyone is just going to sit there and let you burn? Someone will get you off the plane.

I pop one or two sleeping pills on long haul flights but have never once gotten a decent sleep. On the way home from Europe last year I couldn't take it so I took three pills and I still couldn't fall asleep :mad:

Is Uncle Arthur still an option or has he given a ride to some other victim? Sorry I mean passenger.

Sleeping pills have never worked for me either, probably the best sleeping pill is to just down a bottle of spirits but they might not let you on the plane.

Thing about sleeping pills is that you are so wound up on getting to sleep all you can think about is getting to sleep. Your mind is all get to sleep. Sleeping pills will try to cause fatigue, but the mind is too powerful and keeps thinking about getting to sleep.
