I question the durability of any tyre that cheap, but I follow now. You mean anything not bald.

I think people can have problems with their vehicles that make them not an easy drive, despite ticking all boxes for road worthiness like brakes and tyres, and can be expensive fixes.

Actually the law says you keep left if the speed limit is 90+ unless overtaking. (in WA at least)
I know that but stop breaking the law so I can break the law doesn't make a lot of sense. If that's me on the right doing the limit you can lump it or go the **** around and tailgating me will get you exactly nowhere.

you hear that Scotland get the **** out of the right lane
Hai perthblue. The Freeway South has 4 lanes, 5 in some places. Would you like me to sit on the leftmost lane at all times doing 100 so you can sit behind me doing 100?

If they're doing the speed limit in the right lane you've got no right to hassle them.
Still valid.

People have a weird entitlement to others allowing them to exceed the speed limit.

Lol RU you are an angry man. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume its ciggy withdrawals
Do you know how hard it is to quit while supporting the Lions? :p.

Look, I’m not trying to get into a shit show here because you and I have got along quite well in the past when talking cars, can you seriously tell me though that you’re not okay with me speeding down an open highway compared to a car that is not sound for a roadworthy and is more likely to veer off the road into another car, tree, house, etc? I get that people don’t like speeding, but you almost sound like you’re okay and happy for someone to drive a dangerous vehicle because their not well off in the financial department?

One car has an external gate, wouldn’t pass a roadworthy and all it does is literally vent to atmosphere rather than venting down the exhaust pipe.

The other has a small crack in the exhaust manifold, all it really does is affect my fuel economy possibly and a bit more soot - touch and go it could possibly pass a roady.

I have someone that’ll roadworthy both so.. not really an issue for me. :p

Regardless neither of those things is going to cause an issue to others around me.

So are those who can’t do the freaking speed limit.

Was visiting my parents on the weekend and driving home at about midnight Saturday I got stuck behind some campaigner doing 60 in an 80 zone. It didn’t matter how many times I flashed the high beams, or gave a quick horn hit they wouldn’t speed up. Lo and behold sitting a little close to the back of their car suddenly had them at 80.
Was there facility to overtake them?

Great. So you'd rather contribute to endangering everyone else by forcing the car behind you to undertake in the left lane instead of following the law and best practice by 'keeping left unless overtaking'?

Fair enough if you're on a congested freeway and you are overtaking - then the driver behind should wait until you have the chance to move left, but otherwise you're just creating more problems for everyone else by being stubborn and entitled.

I don't particularly care what you do, as long as you are mature enough to believe you are doing it safely. I'm not perfect either and in certain scenarios, one can exceed the speed limit responsibly.

I think if somebody is going a whopping THREE KILOMETRES under the speed limit, then they really don't need to be tailgated and flashed. Ever. If they don't feel safe going any faster in their vehicle, then other road users should be grateful of the fact they are driving within their limits and not endangering them. I believe there are no dangerous vehicles, only dangerous drivers. A dangerous driver in an unsuitable vehicle for their attitude is the worst combination. Most people have a good reason for doing something. They could be driving slow for instance, because they are on their way to get their bargain basement tyres fitted, for instance. Because they are on their way to get their brakes fixed.

In short, don't assume you own the road and everybody is purposely out to disrupt the traffic. Some people are pretty hopeless, no denying that, but I'm certain that people who you honk and flash, there are some that really don't deserve to be bullied on the road, and you probably made their day a lot worse.

Especially for going 5% under the limit, which is a limit, not a minimum.

Agree with a lot of it.

The one doing 20 under needs to pull over though, no ones going to change my mind on that.

The one doing 55 also got the last laugh because I undertook them straight into a speed camera. :p

Look, I wanted to honk the **** out of this old codger in a Barina the other day doing 30, the HQ does not have electronic injection and if my foot isn't in the gas I'm in danger of stalling, but the horn doesn't work without shorting out the brake and blinker lights. I couldn't tailgate him either as my brakes aren't responsive enough for a sudden stop. Good enough for road worthiness, but until somebody has driven a near 50 year old car that was short on bells and whistles for the time, let alone modern day, people don't understand.

See I presume you have some age on me and it’s probably why you are able to contain yourself, majority of people my age however are pretty impatient on the road. Best mate has a HR Prem and we used to drive that a lot, I know what you mean by being short on bells and whistles. It also had a mig/tig locked diff, which made it even more challenging. :p

These last few pages are further proof of my theory that every driver, other than me, is a dickhead and shouldn't be on the road.

Apply it to yourself and I think you will agree.

The car behind me can just sit there doing the speed limit too. It's their choice whether they want to drive like a dickhead by going around me so they can break the law by speeding. I'm not forcing them to do anything but abide by the speed limit. What an arsehole! :drunk:

Terrible attitude. Just move over, let them pass and then continue on with your life.

I doubt it.

26.

I can contain myself because I was something of a late bloomer to get a license, so I can see there's a life outside of driving.

Not cars, cars are awesome, but getting worked up over the daily commute is something that I can really go without.

5 years.

We were all out being ‘hoons’ at 17-18 on the backroads in our shit boxes.

I don’t even know, I just get impatient, and the fact that I’ve had 2 speeding fines in close to 5 years just fills me with confidence that I won’t get done.

I'm continuing with my life just fine without enabling hoons. Go around me if you want to speed. Simple. Besides you said you didn't have a problem if it was a congested road. Every major road in Perth is congested so cool your jets. There's a reason you never hear of anyone getting pulled over for being in the right lane.
