Was never bullied (I have a disability which would've rendered me low hanging fruit ripe for the picking but had a good network so was tickety boo) but I saw bullying happening a fair bit to a guy with ADD or ADHD when he was in Year's 7 and 8 and, like a stampede, so many teenagers chased after him in the hope he'd crack and crack some more.

Not one person I saw stood up for him. (I didn't FWIW.)

No wonder he constantly was pissed off.

i got my nose broken when i was in year 10, in class

the ****head behind me kept kicking the back of my chair, yelled out "do you mind" after the 10th or 15th time this happened. stopped for a few mins. he then kicked out the legs of the chair from under me, which broke it. nose hit the edge of the table. nose broken in 4 places

i got 2 days lunch detention for this.. other kid got a week

schools don't do shit

what was even better was that for the next couple of month, i got bullied for getting detention for getting my ass kicked
Wow. That's shit. Reminds me of the time I got smacked in the face by some girl. I yelled out the f bomb so loud three teachers came out. I got detention and had to sandpaper desks for the afternoon. Her punishment? Nothing.

I am tired and cold. I wish to go to bed early.

But there is dead set a ******* possum crawling around in my roof and I don't know how to get rid of it. Obviously it is not in the air vents (although i can hear it through there) as it would of suffocated/fallen through but it is somehow crawling around and breathing heavily. And they make a racket at night when they fight/run around.

There must be a broken tile somewhere and a gap has opened up. But it is cold and wet and I don't know what to do.

Don't call Peter the Possum Man, he's a ****en rip off. Paul the Possum Catcher is way better, dead serious.

How are they going to manage without tearing the roof apart thou?

I'd happily do it except:

a) I plan on sleeping and it will be like a dawn raid if a possum starts biting my face after leaping on my bed in the middle of the night

b) Spiders/snakes/cockroaches/a small mouse I will simply take care of business. This might be a rat thou. And I have a phobia.

Won't matter thou as if it is a rat I am simply moving. No ifs no buts I'm booking a Bunnings Van on the Weekend and simply taking the next best available off Real Estate.com/Domain until a permanent option comes along. Or will sleep in my car/cheap motel.Am not living with rats.

Spiders/snakes can kill you so a phobia about them makes sense but rats can't harm you so I don't understand why people would have a rat phobia.

Are you able to get into the roof yourself easily? A bright torch or loud noise might be enough to scare it off.

You don't have an access point in the laundry?
I'd call the possum dude, he will go up thru the manhole
You'll never get it out yourself

Then find the entrance hole and block it up...tight

I never understood that. If you ever stood up for yourself against the bully, you'd get into the same amount of shit as the person that bullied you.

It's the total lack of awareness that English is their second language and in most cases it's not a slight but just easier than trying to translate the conversation first especially if elderly people are within the group

Imagine being on holiday in Germany and being told to speak German all the time rather than English
it baffles the mind doesnt it. Travel to a country in south east asia where english is not an official language, see tourists from aus, usa etc speaking english between themselves. One can bet their bottom dollar that first thing they worry about is whether hotel staff speak english

How is this post off topic.

This thread by definition is "off topic" post what you want (that shits you)
the topic of the day was bullying

Lots of places have rats over winter. If you are sure it's a rat, just stick your head up through the man hole and stick some rat sack up there and Bob's your uncle :thumbsu:

The heavy breathing does suggest a possum though. You can order possum traps from the internet, then once you have it in the trap you can release it outside. Possum will not be harmed.

If you go the possum trap option then make sure you seal the entrance to your roof before releasing it.
