There is a fair chance that this will be a greatly unsuccessful year for the Hawks. It seems they are destined to fall short of a flag this year, quite possibly due to the might of the Geelong Cats, making this entire season a failure. They should be very disappointed with their efforts. Their supporters shouldn't accept it, because winning a flag is the only thing that's good in footy. RFC is a long-time heroin addict. TW is its 'friend', the smiling smooth-talker who promises to make the pain go away with one neat little package. Many people here practice the first kind of love. A few the second. And some of us prefer to stage interventions, shout "wake up!" at blinkered rellies and kneecap drug dealers who prey on our loved one's weaknesses.

The posters here are divided into those with love and patience who encourage the kid and have confidence that he can live a normal life versus the ones who scream at the poor kid and threaten to kick him out of home every time he spells something incorrectly.

Really, RFC is more like a problem gambler. We might slowly be learning to invest in boring, time-consuming interest-bearing accounts, but we still can't resist the lure of a cheap scratchie and every now and then put the rent on a 100-1 outsider. And we play Tatts every week cos "someone's got to win it!".

I think your brain cant quite fathom the concept, that this is this sports premier comp. You dont go into premier comps to make up the ****ing numbers fool. You strive to be the best and anything less is a failure. If the dawks dont deliver, this year or next , just watch what happens.

man your stupidity just keeps on shining through. Here is a question for ya...why do clubs and boards conduct reviews each year? Because they want to see if what they have in place is good enough to deliver the flag correct? Where did i actually say that teams are a joke if they dont win the flag? You tend to pick out stuff from your mind and suggest that i actually said it, dont you?
If the dawks fall over this year, they will conduct the same review that all clubs do. If it is deemed that Clarkson got it wrong, they will take measures to make sure it isnt wrong again. If that means he stays and players get moved on, then so be it. If they then go into next year and the same happens, then they will look at Clarkson as the reason. Thats what clubs do when they want to move forward, from the where they are at. Be it seconc be it 5th, be it 10th, they all look at the whole structure and see what is at fault.
You are advocating that we should look at that structure that is right now not right, but hope it is, and because we have this mindset that we cant seem to understand, that we might have got it wrong with TW, we shouldnt hold him accountable, purely because he has this plan that most fans would love to understand what in fact it is, if there is one and leave him in the seat so we can attract any prospective candidates next year. So in fact, you are sceptical of TW, because you dont know what will happen next year, you dont know how we will go, you hang your hat on his 5 year plan, and lets see what happens in year 5. They had no hesitation in reaming a n ex-premiership player who was their previous coach, because its the quick or the dead dude.
We were laughing at them because they took, what looked to us as the biggest punt when it came to selecting a coach and look now?
Does it not strike you as odd that not only has that punt delivered what it has to date, but every other punt that they took, re. draft as well? and here we are, the team that was supposedly on the front foot, we had the picks, we had the coach we had the whole box and dice and look at us. it might not be, but i am not going to sit around and not ask a million and one questions, to an ex-hawk who played shoulder to shoulder with the directors of the club that has whizzed passed us when we had the box seat, to be where they are dude.
Our improvement? Our improvement has been completely aligned to the system doing its thing. We beat teams on the way down, that makes us look like we are on the way up. Do you not comprehend that?
It has nothing to do with development and who we deemed as required personel to take us up the ladder and how competent they are.
We are there by default.
Like FFS, open your eyes and wake up dude. We are back to what we had when SPud was caoching us, and that is with a crop of draftees over 4 years that were the pick of the crop. At this point in time we are nowhere near the improvement nessecary for us to allow TW the luxury of him feeling safe. Even if we make the finals next year, we might make 8th? who knows, if we cant beat top sides in games that matter then we are back to the Spud days.

yeah you got that one right on the money dude....believe me you are that far gone it aint funny. Did you watch the game last week? How did you view the quality from not only us, but both teams?
The system has bunched everyone together and allowed two maybe three clubs to break from the pack. Those that do, do it because they dont rely on the system only. They just happen to have the right people and get some luck and they break out of the pack.
The rest just tread water in this pack and produce comedies like last Sunday.
Both teams were shit, a top side would have torn the crows a new one, let alone what they would have done to us.
The system is all about keeping muppets like you on their toes believing and paying and hoping.
I mean do you actually watch the game without bias as a pure footy match? Get real man, you really need to get with the program.

The standard of the AFL has declined in the last few years if you ask me. The current rules promote soft and unaccountable football. Geelong would still be a great side in any era , Hawthorn bottom half of the 8.... Footscray would finish anywhere from 6th to 12th and even they seem to replicating their late season decline of last year. The rest would stuggle to make finals. I think with the exception of those 3 and perhaps Carlton (who still ain't that great) teams are generally worse. Richmond are not that much better than last year. We have for a quarter here and there exceeded our standard of last year, but I still have yet to see a full four quarter peformnce against a quality side...or anyside (we had ordinary firsts against WCE & Freo) for that matter that has come close to matching our high watermark performance of last year against Collingwood. That is not a good sign.
