I think that most WCE supporters aren't fussed at all about having Chick. We have better prospects. Two years ago I thought he would have been good for us but next season he'll be 27 and too old for our crop. Dissy Headland and Stenglein are different issues. Both are young and classy.

Our problem is that we only have draft picks to trade as our better players are required ones.

And another thing, why do you keep carrying on about it!

Its not like the supporters make the decisions anyway and this time of year is called the "silly season".

Get over it...

I wouldn't pay much attention to Eagles fans opinions. After all they think Gardiner is the best ruckman in the AFL.

OK. I'm just sick of reading about Collingwood

Thanks for the sweeping generalisation mate, pity not all west coast fans do think that.

What we do think is he is an ex #1 pick and is now more developed so we would need more than the #1 pick in return for him. Plus he is a required player. Same reason you guys are all saying we have to give Brissy more than the #1 pick for headland, it works both ways.

I don't think any have said that. He would have to be the best young attacking ruckman though.
I would probably rate him third behind Darcy & Primus but he's got 4 years on them, and kicks more goals.

It's irrelevant anyway as he won't be traded.

White? King?

Adelaide have a pretty decent and under-rated ruck duo in Biglands and Clark.

Simmonds and Burton have had better seasons than Gardiner as well.

I would rate the ruckmen in this order,

Primus
Darcy
King
White
Burton
Gardiner
Simmonds

Pretty good assessment there Kenny, but I would put Gardiner on evens with White and just above Burton.

Gardiner IMO is better in the forward line than White (just slightly), and has more pace than Burton.

I'm basing my assessment on a fit Gardiner, not the one that was missing half of this season. If he gets a full season under his belt next year, I'm sure people will take notice.

King - Perhaps. White - runs hot & cold. Burton - Good tap ruckman, but does nothing around the ground. Simmonds -

Burton does plenty around the ground.. I mean it hard to expect him to do what White,Primus etc do, he is 210cms afterall.. how much would u do if u were 210cms tall? Not alot I reckon.. Burton does plenty- considering his size. If he was the size of other ruckman (197-203 or so cms) then maybe more could be expected from him around the ground, but at his size, I think he does plenty..

Anyway, he ran down the 'almighty' Primus:p:p:p:p

Go Roos

Chick Schmick. He's be behind Headland and Stenglien in our priorities for 2003. And why is all the attention with Chick focussed on the West Coast Eagles? Wouldn't Freo want to try and get an old Shark back in the port?

Fair enough, Except some WC fans on here will still be offering Embley for Headland or Stenglein.

Yeah, just like some of your blokes and gals want Gardiner for Chick...

It goes both ways mate!

I take it you think Hotton, McKernan and Merrington put together are better than him. Even a fit Matty Allan would find Gardiner tough to play against.
