DEADLINE
Some day phases are dramatic. Some are chaotic. Some are decided in a whirlwind of last-minute votes and furious debate. This was not one of those days.
The Village gathered around the hastily erected gallows in the town square, exchanged a few glances, and all started writing down the same name. Given the confusion of the last few days, it was somewhat of a relief to not have the shouting, the wild accusations and the even wilder defences. Just a resigned acceptance of what needed to be done.
The accused barely protested. There was a sigh, a shrug, and a half-hearted "Well, this was fun while it lasted".
