Yet another amazing result, in what really has been an amazing season! Gold Coast have probably been the worst team in the competition over the last month or so, and yet they've managed to knock off the reigning premiers when the Tigers had everything to play for. Richmond "got out of jail" last week with Hawthorn beating GWS and they stayed in the eight, but they may not be so lucky this week.

Clash with Cronulla?

I know it’s a different comp, but I’d reckon these days comps would try to avoid clashes like that. The Footscray / Canterbury thing pre-dates the national comps and is a nuisance that the decision makers would rather avoid if they had their time again.

Apparently they lost because of the umpiring.

They seem to forget all the easy misses the Suns had and the 10 less scoring shots.

You think it would be that big of an issue? I don't know some of the historical points, but it could be different enough.

What a win.

It was so nice being at marvel to witness the end of richmond's era.

The scoreline flattered them really, with all the dominance the suns had, if they could kick straight, then it would have been over at half time.

And my god. Touk. He won't be going unnoticed soon enough.

Perhaps part of the GCS’ reason for being is to be yet another a tourist drawcard? Ie: all those interstate supporters flying to to watch their team play (and to escape the winter blues).

That’s Tony Cochran’s thing isn’t it, wasn’t he also behind Indy and Supercars?

Perhaps “Suns” plays better into that narrative?
