If Robbie is not 100% we shouldn't take him now that the drug culture at Freo has taken hold of their best key forward.

McCarthy is not AFL standard and Lobb one of the most over rated players in the AFL - who will have to spend a lot of the time in the ruck. A long season - no need to take an early risk.

Pure thug. Pound for pound he has the physical presence of Carey.

I only wish he was 10 cms taller so we could play him at CHF.

Getting both Ben & Jed in peak condition together on the park is a mouth-watering prospect. We’ve had a couple of glimpses but we need to see it consistently. It’s a combination that has the ability to literally terrorise opposition midfields.

Just replying to this so I can come back to it once the game is finished. Good luck with zero talls to take Lobb let alone the rest.

It’s quite simple, really. We should put our best available team on the park this week. The only time we should break from that rule is when/if we’re a couple of games clear at the top of the table and it’s getting close to finals time. Freo in Perth is not something to take for granted. In fact, North are nowhere near being in a position to take anyone for granted.

The rest? Who are these “rest”. Darcy can’t ruck against Goldy for long. He will be spent by quarter time. Lobb will spend a lot of time rucking. He is average anyway.

Correct. And Lobb could look like a superstar when he lines up on a kid in his second game. Or EVW who gives away 6 inches. If Tarrant is fit, he plays no question.

Have you seen Freos midfield? My 4 year old could terrorise them. They did have 2 good midfielders but 1 walked out on the club leaving Fyfe all by himself.

But agree - having them both back against real midfields is important.

All our backs have to do is throw a heap of empty baggies on the ground and say one’s full.
Lobb and co will be on hands and knees trying to find it.

Well thats fair enough. When you can't play footy you may aswell try and find a way to be useful and collect empty baggies or do you have like a baggie collector? Once youre done with them you keep them for special opponents.

Hogan looks like he primed to need plenty of baggies.

Im going to now assume that you do have sub standard afl players who collect norths left over baggies since avoided that part. Make sure they dont leave fingerprints and kudos for looking after the enviroment.

Or I mean if your supplying full baggies now then why the hell not.. youre paying not us.

Hope Bailey Scott gets a go. Has earnt it.

He'd be pretty *in' screwed over if he didn't earn a game honestly, with the depth with have in most of the areas of the ground we should be rewarded games based on effort now and not necessity.

Now that Marleys in question I think that puts him at half-back as Pittard moves down full back.

I'm led to believe you're not far off the mark.

BEN BROAD
Fremantle was aware of star recruit Jesse Hogan's off-field issues before they decided to trade for the key forward last year, according to a prominent Perth journalist.
And images circulating of Hogan should be a further warning for the club, with Basil Zempilas likening pictures of a seemingly under-the-weather Hogan to troubled AFL legend Ben Cousins.
Last night the Dockers announced Hogan would miss this weekend's Round 1 clash after he "made poor choices around alcohol consumption" on Saturday night, the club also saying the goalkicker was dealing with clinical anxiety.
Speaking on morning radio in Perth, Kim Hagdorn said the club was aware of Hogan's struggles before handing over picks 6 and 23 for the former Demon.
Hagdorn also said he believed Hogan was involved in an incident at a Perth venue at the weekend and might have sustained injuries from the alleged altercation.
"Now Fremantle continue to say they've done their due diligence and that this man was going to take them back into finals contention," Hagdorn said on 6PR Breakfast.
"I continue to find it alarming that they've dismissed it so simply, that is just anxiety.
"Clearly, there has not been a significant network of support put around this man."

Hagdorn said he expected there to be further fallout from Hogan’s weekend antics.
"The allegation and the suspicion now is that Jesse Hogan has rib injuries out of the altercation," he said.
"Fremantle's leadership group was summoned yesterday afternoon to assist on decisions for Hogan's sanctions and there were more urgent meetings last night of Fremantle's senior management … they are chasing diligently, feverishly vision of what took place in the car park at the Cut Tavern on Saturday evening.
"It is a growing story and sadly it will affect Fremantle's chances in the early games of the season and certainly their boom recruit."
Zempilas, one of the voices of Channel 7's AFL commentary team, said the vision of Hogan wasn't pretty.
"One thing Fremantle can't hide from, the number of images that have gone around of Jesse Hogan in an inebriated state … to be honest we haven't seen pictures of one particular AFL player like that since Ben Cousins was at the height of his problems."
The Dockers said in a statement last night that the club would continue to support Hogan.
“Jesse continues to train very hard on the training track and he will continue to train with the team, but his clinical anxiety can lead to him making poor decisions around alcohol consumption and, therefore, impact his health and wellbeing.”
WARNINGS ON HOGAN?
"There's been warnings all summer on Jesse Hogan's weekend, nocturnal behaviours and most media in this town know about it," Hagdorn said.
"There was an official Fremantle function for sponsors at Crown late last December. Jesse Hogan was in such an inebriated state that chief executive Steve Rosich, (football manager) Peter Bell and two board members met in a corner for some 20 minutes at this function to decide on action.
"A senior Fremantle player was asked to take Jesse home.
FREO'S DECISION TO TRADE FOR HOGAN
"Back in October, at lunchtime on Friday October 12, Fremantle pulled out of the pursuit for Jesse Hogan," Hagdorn said.
"They pulled out of it after the due diligence had been so thorough that serious alarm bells were ringing through the Fremantle recruiting and football management team, that they should back off and not bring Jesse Hogan in – he had too many problems
"(CEO) Steve Rosich overruled that decision, Friday into Saturday, and they went back into the chase some 20 hours later for Jesse Hogan … They've known about this from the moment they took him in."

From NMFC article re: Healy on Bailey Scott

"With the Round 1 squad set to be announced this Thursday, Scott will be hoping he can make his AFL debut against Fremantle, but understands if he misses out, the VFL will be the perfect opportunity to refine his craft."

Translation: Bailey will not be playing round one.

Classic NMFC foreshadowing
