No chance in hell. All are great players and all will have a huge future, but Riewoldt is something special. The difference is that he is a key position player, and can play at both ends of the ground. Great midfielders are a lot more common that great key position players. Along with Koschitzke, Riewoldt is the player who St.Kilda will build their future around.

What vergs said! I'd be very much against such a trade. We've got loads of midfielders already. Great key position players are much harder to come by.

Seriously, I'd never contemplate a trade for Riewoldt or Hayes (who was discussed in the trade thread on the main board), if ever there are two kids on the verge of becoming superstars it's these two.

I have to agree. We can't swap Riewoldt, no matter who it's for. Personally, I think he is too important to the future of the club to be traded away. Ditto for Lenny Hayes.
We have traded our stars away time and time again, and I would be quite upset if we did it again.

Considering that Riewoldt is a great key position player and also that the likes of Hayes, Ball, Goddard, Dal Santo and Clarke will most likely be very successful midfielders, I would not consider a Riewoldt/Judd trade. Riewoldt is just so important to the structure of our team, and there is also a chance that one or even more of those midfielders above could turn out to be a better player than Judd in the long run.

Basically!

Not only does he have potential to be a superduperstar (he's probably already there) and is important to our structure, he's also a leader. The young(er) blokes look up to him so much already. It'd be mad to let him go.

Untouchable as they say! He is the sort of player who would make other good players want to join the SAints other then other clubs, oozes class and talent!

The saints could never trade Roo. How many kids do you see walking around with number 12 of their jumpers? Basiclly every kid walking around Telstra Dome. If we did for some strange reason we would loose members too.
It's simple, as much as having Judd at the club would be great it would be hard to fit him under the cap and to find a trade to get him to the club.
