This week against the Saints, I dont need to say is a huge test, and if we play like we did against Melbourne, we will get absolutely SMASHED.
I have seen a guy I want in the team, his name is Kelvin Moore.
He should be groomed for the FULL BACK position, starting this week against the Saints. I know it is early, and he may not be 100% ready yet, but dont tell me Gaspar is 100% right to play?
This weeks team should be:
IN: Moore, Shultz, Roach
OUT: Bowden, Fiora (inj), Rodan.
The reason to drop Bowden, even though I dont believe he was our worst player on Friday night, it sends a message to our senior blokes, play hard and accountable or not at all. Fiora is an injury casualty, and Rodan im just sick of these unaccountable blokes in our side, he does one or two flashy things and he gets hyped, its time to get a solid full game out of him at Coburg.
Shultz should not have been dropped against Melbourne, returns after a good game for Coburg (rewarding), Roach is in the same boat, hes in top form the kid, and plays hard and has energy levels we need and the skill levels 85% of our senior blokes lack. Now to Kelvin, he is so calm under pressure and is a top reader of the ball, is a bit light on but I say play him and reward the kid for being the best on ground for Coburg. With him and Shultz comming in to the team, it just gives us more options to play on the Riewolts, Hammils and Gehrigs.
TEAM AGAINST SAINTS.
B. Chaffey Gaspar Kellaway
HB. Zantuck Moore Hyde
C. Tivendale Coughlan Newman
HF. Brown Morrison Campbell
F. Shultz Richardson Hartigan
R. Ottens Johnson Krakouer
INT. Stafford, Roach, Fleming, Hall.
Hartigan is a class player, make him play an accountable role in our Forward Line on Aussie Jones, put pressure on him and make Aussie be more accountable rather than set up plays from the back half.
Richo, Shultz, Morrison gives us three talls to kick to, Shultz takes over Zantucks role in the Forward Line with Zanners moving back.
Tivendale, Coughlan, Newman, Brown, Campbell, Johnson and Krakouer - geez thats a midfield, and I would have faith and say to run hard and play accountable but be attacking. Run a muck.
Gaspar, Hall, Zantuck, Kellaway and Moore give us some real options to play on their tall timber. I would have Zantuck on Hamill, Gaspar on Gehrig and Moore (yes Moore) on Riewolt when Riewolt roams the ground, Moore has the athleticity to run with him and is great defensively. Hyde to play on Milne - been ultra impressed with Hyde, think hes going to be a player in the mold of Newman. Chaffey to be the quarter back role he likes being.
No more selecting the team on names, its time to get fair dinkum and play the players that will play Hard Tough Footy!!
