That is correct.

I had a situation (the opposite) where I bought something and the guy gave me wrong account.
He could not have been nicer and said if we can’t retrieve funds he’ll wear it no problems.
I said we’ll get it done and it was sorted very well.
Point being, mistakes happen and people should do right thing.

Regardless of error in such cases, wrongful possession of goods (monies) isn’t the done thing.
