there has been numerous threads on our delistings, but what i want to know is who you guys think we will draft this year particularly the thoughts on of people who have followed the draft closely.

With our first pick unless someone from the upper level slides i think we will go for someone like Trengrove or Yarran IMO. I know they are different players (ones a KP the others a FP) But i think either can fit our teams needs. The other option is draft the best available midfielder preferrably someone with good skills and quick.

I would probably take yarran as i believe that he has that bit of X factor about him that we need.

Sidebottom is exceptionally skilled on both sides of his body, perhaps the best kick in the draft.

Rockliff is a small forward but not quick or agile, reminded me of a porps.

Shoenmaker at 189cm too small for KPP ......

Rockliff too slow

Like Ziebel .....but he'll be gone by pick 10

Trengove :thumbsu:

Lewis Johnstone :thumbsu:

O'keefe .....second round pick, good size, magnificant disposal :thumbsu:

Hall .......classy small 4th rounder :thumbsu:

Would like Vickery but he'll be gone

Hartlett is class but too much like our other outside midfielders and not a midfield need AP

I just want Sidebottom and Dangerfield in the same team.

But being serious it sounds like this kid can really play and with our pick being around 10 again this year he could be avaliable.

We also need to target a classy mid which can complement our huge bunch or workman like triers. These blokes get the job done but we need someone running around there that can smack a bloke on the chest in any situation.

I'm hoping that one day McKay can fill this void aswell.

I would like to see us get Ziebell but I dont think this will happen. Johnston would also be another player I would like to get but I think we should take a midfielder with our first pick. Realistically with our pick 10 I would hope we could get either Sidebottom,Heyne, Suban, Yarran or even Walters from WA.

Just looking at some of Yarrans stats from the wafl. He has played 10 league games for 31 goals including bags of 7 goals in round 1, 5 goals, 4 goals and he has kicked 3 goals on three occassions. Apparently on the drafts and trading board he has been likened to a Shaun Burgouyne type player.

Shoenmaker at 189cm too small for KPP ......

No way in hell is he 189cm.

I'm about 191cm, and he's comfortably taller than me; he'd be around 195cm, easily.

Very, very fit, quick for his size, great decision maker, and you wouldn't know if he was left-footed or right-footed.

Height is a funny thing. I'm 192 cm tall (about 6'3"), and yet i'm consistently a few cm's or inches taller than most people that say they are 6'4".

I think thats what he was implying....

He can imply all he wants - Ryan was taller than 189 at the start of the year, and he's grown a fair bit since. He'd comfortably be around 195cm.

His Dad & Uncle are both close to 6'6; he's a very tall boy.

Since when are height/weight stats accurate in any of the literature?

EDIT - Just measured myself - I'm 189; he's a fair bit taller than me.

That's not a funny thing, that's just people lying about their height.

Yep, and it's always seemed to me that the vast majority of people have 'Collingwood 6 footer Syndrome'. My point being I never trust heights, either from official sources or hearsay.

Fair enough :)

Let's just say that those stats on his height are way off, you're welcome to believe me or not, and move on.

I was kind of agreeing with you if anything (at least, i wasn't disagreeing with you :) ). I am sure the club knows exactly how tall everyone they are intersted in drafting is and are keeping tabs on growth spurts etc.

We need a good mid sized forward, good leading and marking, probably around 190, or a decent size guy (KPP) type - maybe Shoenmaker??

A spark up forward would be ideal, jacky may become but may not become a good forward and crumber, but I think we need to pick one like a Burgoyne ??

A decent quick midfielder who ideally is a tough in and under pack player. Dangerfield will be a quick outside player, we need a tough, shove into the opposition chest during a tackle, midefielder.

Finally we need a general down back, Bock is handy but a player slightly smaller around 190 to be a tough general down back, good hands and leap.

Many problems with stucture and game plan but that's another post
