If the clenbuterol was in cocaine, shouldn't they have also tested positive to cocaine?
Cocaine leaves the body within a day or two, so is very hard to detect. Think ice leaves the body fairly quickly as well. Traces of clem must stick around a bit longer, so if the test was say 4 days after taking the coke, no coke would be detected but the clem would be, hence no positive illicit drug test.

EDIT: working on the presumption that they did not test positive to coke. But if they did we probably would not even know about it.

Don't know how much you can read into it but Keefe hasn't gone up to QLD, was out having beers with a bunch of mates (non-pies players) last night. Didn't seem to have a care in the world.

Well he is suspended by the AFL atm, so definitely wouldn't have any reason to travel with the team.

What he does at the moment just depends on what type of the training the club wants him to do (if even allowed).

Theres probably not a whole lot him & josh can do other than just wait for the B sample and then the hearing... And then let their lawyer/s see what they can do

My attitude toward this has hardened after a couple of days to sleep on it.

We'll do due process and wait for the B sample and most likely the drug tribunal before making it official, but these two are not Collingwood players anymore in my eyes. If by some miracle it turns out to have been a stuff up, I'll apologize then, but it won't.

This case is walking and quacking like a duck. The BEST realistic case is that they were taking a serious illegal drug which is criminally stupid in their position as well as literally criminal.

**** them.

I think it is pretty obvious that they are Collingwood players in name only now. Once the B sample comes through they will be officially let go.

Yep, unfortunately this looks the case.

Can't see the club back-pedalling after Eddie's comments, even if they claim it was accidental.

(Although it woukd be interesting to know Eddie's exact words, if it was something like "I they deliberately took drugs then..." I reckon he might pull a swifty)

Yep, a real job :D Cause only someone who has played at AFL level will know/notice the difference. And I doubt that's you.
:)
WTF?
Look buddy, I was just suggesting that playing professional footy would be no easy thing. In fact, I imagine* it would be much harder than what you have suggested 'real' jobs are.

If you think it would be easier then cool. All good. Just differening opinion buddy.

(* the use of this word indicates that I am not a professional footballer and I'm sure anywhere have I suggested or implied as much)

He can't exactly sit in his room for the next couple of months and hope for a miracle. He's probably distressed from the whole scenario and realises his career is over. Going out with his mates to take his mind off things is a good thing for him.

I think he meant real as in an everyday job.

My issue with the comment that many make about professional footballers is the following:
a job where being an athlete and making easy $$$.
Fair enough buddy, we'll have to disagree here. I wouldnt call what they do easy.

Go pies!

Going to do some gardening to take my mind off. Tipped Brissy against the pies for the first time in almost 10 years I reckon. Shit times...

What I find kind of ironical is that under the Oliver Cromwell of AFL coaching, Nathan Buckley, the puritan who has weeded out all the dissenters, imbibers and drug takers from his squad, we are the second AFL team to be disciplined for performance enhancing drugs and have the first player double header. Cleanliness in our case is not next to Godliness.
