Bucks: "The club has been kept out of that loop since the illicit drugs policy has been in play
Think he was referring to the point that clubs are not told of any positive illicit test till the third strike. IIRC Club doc's are made aware after the 2nd strike but under doc/patient confidentially the can not tell the club. Bucks has been out spoken about how can they help the players with any drug issues if the club does not know about positive tests until it is to late.

Kids pay attention to what their kids tell them to do these days?

Either you don't remember being a kid, or you were one of the odd ones out who actually listened to their parents.

Also, kids pay no attention to politics until they're young adults. Not sure why eating a raw onion can even be regarded in the same league as taking coke.

I think you might be confused as to who is throwing out the shit arguments here...
So I don't know much about kids?

I'm a parent and have been a teacher for over 10 years. If you want to tell children to look up to the guy that eats raw onions then go ahead.

After speaking to some very well informed Collingwood "employees" and friends of the pair charged. Lachy Keefe and Josh Thomas took cocaine at the St Kilda festival (two days prior to test) and its a strong belief between the pair of them that a cutting agent in the coke they took was clenbuterol. This is a quite common practice for drug dealers as it elevates your heart rate dramatically (like cocaine) and when in powder form looks very similar. I don't care for a reply about whether someone thinks this is a bullshit post or not I'm just intrigued as to what would be the view if this was the case. Do ASADA and WADA ban them for 4 years or half that. Or if proven to be correct do they get let off for the performance enhancing drugs and the illicit drug falls under one of there strikes in the afl policy or... Do ASADA and WADA impose a ban still ? Thoughts

If it was a genuine accident then I think 18 month suspension is reasonable (if they fully cooperate).

Hope the cocaine was worth it boys, it just cost you your careers.

Of course cocaine is an illicit drug ...

... but is it also scheduled as an out-of-competition performance enhancing drug by WADA / ASADA?

If so, then admitting to taking cocaine wouldn't help their cause at all.

I heard the same thing on the weekend. Also heard there was 8 pie players that where there with them along with bell from carlton and another st kilda player. Lucky for us Keefe and Thomas where the ones that got tested.

Sorry if anyone has already shared the same story I was told

Can't see them getting less than 18 months. If they took it by accident in any other way (in meat), they'd get off, but the prejudice is strong enough against illicit drugs that they'll get done and made an example of.

If you're talking Cromwell, someone must mention how he ends up (or at least the top off him!)

And to be honest, I reckon a few from this board would happily dig up stuff from the past...

I think Oliver died peacefully of old age. You may be getting him confused with Charlie #1... just like Clinton Young he lost his head under pressure...

There was when it was on but they've since been deleted ;)
Haha no doubt! Lets hope it stays that way we dont want anymore Collingwood names on the front pages.

If the story is true though the other players have just had a near death experience. Hopefully its a massive wake up call for them.

Indeed.

It probably wouldn't make much difference if it's 18 months or 4 years, it'd likely be career over regardless.

I am of the opinion the club were aware of what took place right from the start. I've thought that's why they took the hard line rather than blindly defend them as often happens.

Considering it took this board less than 6hours to work it out (and it's probably the first thing we've ever 'worked out' correctly) then I'd say yeah, they probably knew what was going on from the minute ASADA alerted them.
