Ok so does anyone know if they had to pee in a cup again or does their first sample get tested again? Cause if their coke was lined with a tiny bit of cleb then surley a few weeks afterwards it would be our their system?
They don't pee again.as you point out, that would be pointless. At the same time they did their "A" sample, they did a second sample (e.g. they peed in two jars). The second "B" sample is sent to a different lab and preserved until the result of the A is known. If the A is clear, they presumably chuck out the B. If the A is positive, they get out the B and get the second lab to test it. Done to ensure an athlete doesn't get done as a result of a stuff up in the lab.

It will be positive if the A sample was especially because both of them tested positive but we they don't know their results for a few weeks i think.
Not necessarily, mistakes (i.e. contamination) have been mad in labs before, so whilst it's most likely that the B samples will return a positive result, there is a chance that they will come back negative.

A scientist accidentally knocking a jar of clenbuterol into an Athletes urine sample... hmm...

The chance of contamination with a specific performance enhancing drug is a science laboratory is astronomical

They're idiots for doing drugs and deserved to be thrown out of the afl. I bet thomas was wrestling with a drug dealer when he got "mugged."
Even by your pathetic standards, that last sentence plumbs new depths. I can't believe you're still allowed to post here. I'm hoping that changes one of these days.

are jealous!
Given the current injuries to the midfield the Club would be over joyed to have Josh Thomas back right now.

Man I hope the B samples clear them both.
You might want to go and buy a lotto ticket if you think your luck is riding that high! Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that if the B sample was clear it would have been shouted from the rooftops with an accompanying fanfare by now.

The chances of anyone but the lab (officially) knowing the test results at this stage are slim, the test would have been done, the results typed up, then it has to be delivered to ASADA, who will then notify the players representatives and the AFL. Ain't bureaucracy grand:rolleyes:

Say goodbye to half the competition then. As for me, I couldn't care less if they do illicit drugs. None of my business.
So given that those who take illicit drugs are know to have a high propensity for general life breakdown, what you appear to be saying is that if we lost all of our players to this you would be happy to accept that the club should do nothing because it is not their business. Sorry but I can't agree. Clubs spend huge amounts of money developing players and I personally believe that they have a right to protect their investment and that says nothing of their responsibility to the wider community in promoting healthy lifestyle.

On one level, yes you could say it's all their private business. I get that.

The counter view is more multi factorial.

There's issues around role models and reduced performance if players do illicit 'party type' drugs.

There's issues re their party drugs being contaminated with banned PEDs, like possibly occurred in this case.

Another issue is the possibility that if a player gets into these so called party drugs that they become a possible target to be manipulated.

I know the a Defence Force is strongly anti drugs for that reason.

They fear their members may be vulnerable either via blackmail or supply of drugs that they may have become addicted to, in return for 'favours' to unscrupulous types.

The AFL would share these possible concerns I'm sure, especially in regard to betting and manipulation of results.

Any taint of that would be a body blow to their brand.

Most people who take illicit drugs are fine. It's not different to people drinking.

The point being that there is an increased likelihood of life and or health issues in both drug takers and drinkers which would tell you why clubs also discourage drinking.
