And no doubt, as you rightly suggest, they will try all sorts of excuses in an endeavor to limit the suspension time, but I think 18 months is the best they can hope for
I can't see anyway that they will offer them a reduced sentance on the coke excuse. They will get the full 2 years.

All it will do is perhaps remove the notion that they "deliberately cheated" in the public eye and rather were just reckless young men.

Gee ASADA / WADA have some antiquated technology ! wasn’t the B sample done Tuesday and yet in this modern world we still have no decision????
It's not as simple as old mate in the lab calling up Mark Robinson and gifting him a back page headline.

You have to actually do the test, wait for the results, analyse the results, and then inform ASADA and the AFL, who would then tell the players and/or their lawyers, and then probably the club.

I'd imagine the AFL, ASADA and/or the club would be the first ones to make a formalise statement before we see any media involved.

Unless, of course, there's an internal leak. A leak at Collingwood? Naaah! No way!

Nonetheless, there's hope for a release today. I'm sure it would be in the AFL's greater interest to release such a statement on the eve of the weekend. Let the footy overshadow it somewhat. If they release it on Monday, it's all we'll hear about all week.

It's the AFL's brand as much as it is Collingwood's and the players'.

If the cut coke theory is true I cannot see how they will get anything less that the 2 years and get the immediate a$$ from Collingwood

Fair point...and agree. But they have probably decided not to announce anything before or during this round of football. I suspect monday a press conference will be held to announce the results

My question is how will it be found? Unless they can provide proof of what you are suggesting may have happened, it is just another story. The only fact we have is the positive test. That makes them drug cheats unfortunately.
Im not making any comments about proving if or even suggesting it happened that way, those suggestions are in the public though. For all we know it might have been their mothers slimming tablets!!! In happy to see what unfolds before writing them off.

The AFL, Club and AFLPA will be just trying to sort out the damage control and how the story will be delivered. The delay IMO suggests it is not looking good for them. Given we haven't heard anything today I would say that there will be a press conference called tomorrow to announce it.

Hey Knightmare , if JT and Keeffe were to be sacked over this, what will the knock on consequences be to our list management?

A couple of new recruits added to our list at draft time from the fifth and sixth rounds? (Is this year's draft any good?)

Or do you think Keeffe might have been in the firing line anyway?

Or will we go back to expanding our rookie list?

Or?

Although I am not the Knightmare you so wish, I would assume Thomas isn't much of a big deal, Keeffe however leaves a hole in our KPD defense stocks in an experience kind. Reid and Brown always injured leaves Frost as our most experience KPD and the two that follow are yet to play a game of AFL footy. I wouldn't mind rookieing Mitch Brown at the end of the year but not sure.
