Another poster on BigFooty claims he received a private message on Facebook, I believe it was, outing a number of other Collingwood players for recreational drug use and calling the BigFooty member a cnut amongst other things. I have no reason not to believe this person.
If the drug-taking itself wasn't a sackable offence, then that certainly was.

Unbelievable level of stupidity (if true).

I got pm d rhe msgs looks real

I was a fan of Keeffe. He is 26 and has only played 40 games, so I'm glad he will get an opportunity in 2017. His skills were good, but his decision making was a bit slow, similar to Langdon in that regard. Had some confidence issues, but we would be stupid to move on a guy who has shown a bit at AFL level when Ben Reid is a week to week proposition.

He was also being groomed to go forward before his suspension, so it gives us another option at either end.

Is he? I remember distinctly in 2014 that he seemed to have stagnated, was soft at the contest and while his kicking was decent, his decision making was slow and average.

He's not the answer to our problems, and I don't see a place for him in the team with Reid and Brown both fit.

It's one of those cases where the longer a player misses the better player he becomes.

Most have forgotten that before his 2 years out of the game no one wanted Keeffe in the best 22 and he was struggling at AFL level.

When he comes back, it's going to take him a LONG time to start playing decent footy again.

I'm even more annoyed by our selecting Keeffe early in the rookie draft because we were allegedly worried that Essendon were interested in him... I mean honestly, the opportunity cost to pick up someone who can't even play for a year... not to mention if Essendon *did* pick him up we'd be off the hook for his salary.

SApies can verify the authenticity, he's seen the correspondence.

What a waste of rookie spots. Plenty of our 2010 premiership list came from rookies we developed now we are wasting 2 spots on drug cheating duds.
They weren't cheating, they had no idea the clem was in their party powder. And hardly duds, they'll be decent recruits and better than anything we are getting with our first live pick.

The decision to rookie these guys was made purely to placate the playing group. How have the playing group returned that favour?

Why am I the only one who sees that jmac?

Old topic.
Next year they may be handie rookies, Keefe especially.
Not sure what the big deal is.
They're rookies now, it's done...
up to them in 2017

That's rubbish as evidenced by our effort to circumvent Essendon grabbing Keeffe.

And just quietly in an era of 200+cm forwards a 204cm Keeffe won't be the worst thing considering we have nothing else like him on the list.
