Thomas and Keefe

Both spuds, Keeffe was a list clogger and Thomas just another ordinary midfielder of which we have too many.
Lol, which one are you, Thomas or Keeffe? Can I expect a direct message?

Wrong.... Played some very good football the year before he was suspended!! On that form, he'd be in the team before Frost and Brown and with Reid being one more bad string away from the dog food factory, he's absolutely vital to us next year unless we target some KPP's in trade week!

It would be nice to see them get back to their best, but I fear they will be nothing more than depth players
At least a boost for the VFL team, and a reminder to the playing group that the club 'has their backs'.
Anymore from Keeffe would be an unlikely bonus; I don't hold much hope for Thomas getting back..

Keeffe will be handy depth.

Thomas won't be, we have enough depth in the midfield and he can't really play as a small forward.

Have to give them both a chance though, keeping them on the rookie list is the right call, make them earn their way back.

If Keefe gets back to decent form its curtains for Frost's senior aspirations

Won't somebody please think of the children?!

Swan and Williams, in different circumstances, were involved in far more questionable activities early on and yet were retained. It's just my opinion, but I take violence more seriously than illegal drug use/PED use. And we all know that drug use is widespread across the AFL. It doesn't excuse it whatsoever, but the reality is that these guys are just the ones who got caught. We all know they have teammates at Collingwood who do the same or worse.
It's interesting isn't it, the moral high ground some take on the matter. In no way do I condone drug taking but if someone takes drugs and doesn't get caught, are they less guilty ?

You'd think those that don't want these guys on our list because of the drugs issue, wouldn't be bemoaning some of the players that have been traded over the past few years. Just doesn't appear to be the case. Take drugs and get away with it, it's OK. Take drugs and get caught, not OK.o_O

It's like the old Harold Ramis line from Stripes. "My parents told me never to hit anyone in anger, unless I was absolutely sure I could get away with it ".

Keefe IMO is a valuable backman and utility... in the Jessie white way, he'll be serviceable and offer flexibility for the coach. Will definitely play senior footy again

Thomas is a similar player to greenwood. Solid, but with our depth is not needed and therefore should definitely be on the trade table in 2016/17 off to the Lions along with Oxley and a later pick

Did you know Keeffe has been on our list for about 8 years?
Keeffe has!!

Being 26 and a one club player, that would be right. A lot of time invested in developing him... for what he offers there's no point in trading him unless its for a good price like a second round pick or the steak knives in a bigger deal
e.g. Witts + Thomas, Keefe, Oxley, 4th round pick to Brisbane for their 2017 1st rounder (not that such a deal is likely to be done)

He was just telling you you misspelled Keeffe.

Let's face it Thomas will play VFL all year before being delisted. Keeffe maybe, and that's a big maybe, might get a game but doubt he will have much impact before he is delisted or traded to Lions or GCS for a packet of twisties

One of the few tall backs that can kick, with both legs. If he can return to the form pre suspension he is a lock in that defence
Allows reid to be a sweeper or even go forward if needed, same for howe

Keeffe for ffs
Keeffe may have 2 E's and 2 F's but spelling (with 2 L's) is not a bigfooty (with 2 O's) requirement, plus we can always blame spell check

So these two cheats still on our list?
And we act all high and mighty about the Bombers.......
Sending a terrible message to prospective recruits families. "We will protect you even when you break global drug doping rules".
Makes you proud to be Collingwood doesn't it?
Only the best .......dealers.

Oh get over it, The club promised them spots. People make mistakes. A bloke who retired earlier in the week is a set example.

Ah, really? You want to link Swan, who has never tested positive to a performance enhancing drug, despite the testers targeting him, to these two convicted performance enhancing drug cheats?
Poor Swanny if that's your opinion of him.
The last two weeks has reinforced just what a right Royal f up this has been.
We watched Bolt perform at his peak while the closest man to him is a convicted drug cheat. We all sympathised and tut tutted when Bolt pointed out that this was wrong.
We certainly came down in the side of the bronzed Aussie when he called out his drug convicted Chinese opponent.
And rightly so.
But when it comes to our own club we want the world to think differently about "our" boys.
Well our boys should never be allowed to pull on the Black and White stripes again, let alone be allowed on to any football ground in the world.
It's a morality thing.

He's been on the list for what 6 years now and we still consistently misspell his name. Not a big deal but its annoying.

Serious question; if they were busted for Cocaine would you feel the same?

FFS.

I wasn't linking Swan to failing any drug tests I was saying that he made a mistake years ago when he almost got delisted for punching a bloke.

I think your stand is a bit harsh. Yes, drug cheats should get a punishment, particularly those that systematically take performance enhancing drugs. In defence of these two, they took recreational drugs, laced with a performance enhancing drug. They weren't aware, either through ignorance or lack of judgement, that they they could be caught.
I'm not defending drug takers at all, regardless of recreational or PE. But, if your moral argument is that once a mistake is made and they get caught, they should NEVER be allowed to be given another chance, then that premise can also be applied to driving a car. Get caught speeding once, and NEVER be allowed to drive. Cancel your license.
And, before you say you are not comparing drug cheats with speeding, neither am i. I'm questioning whether your moral stance of "one mistake and never again" applies to everything?
(And as an aside, both drugs and speeding kill... Just saying..)

Josh Thomas of the two is the one who can force his way in, particularly pushing out a guy like Jarryd Blair/Rupert Wills/Tom Phillips etc.
Even Levi Greenwood.
He is an inside player but he can break away from congestion- which is something really only Treloar does.

He was playing some consistent footy and was on track for further improvement before the ban.
Still 24yrs old turning 25.

He won't pushing either of those out. Blair yeah absolutely but Phillips is one of our best kicks on the list and Rupes a tackling and clearance machine.

Mate, turn it right up.
I've watch him play closely. He is yet to show that kicking is an asset or strength for him.

Wills may be a tackling machine but will soon be found out when you won't want the ball in his hands to make decisions or kick the footy.
