Hopefully the two beat the shit out of each other on Friday night and a few Pies players pull up bruised.

Then we can continue the abuse.

Note to Mods: This is not wishing an injury just wishing some good old abuse. Soft tissue if anything. But no injuries :).

Lots and lots and lots of rain as well. :thumbsu:

I didn't think they would accept it, but I guess that the risk in challenging it was too great, even for the arrogant 'pies. Maybe the debacle of Thomas' last challenge made them a bit shy. I remember at that time even he looked embarrassed when was trying to say that he was going for the ball.

Anyway, great news for us. We couldn't take a trick the last couple of years, but the footy gods are smiling on us this season, I wonder how much more they've got to give us................

Im a little worried about this. Sure, Thomas out means that we can take out 2 miraculous goals he will no doubt kick, and certainly makes our preparation seemingly easier, but whoever comes in is going to be hellbent on keeping their spot. They have some serious depth.

We've played in driving rain twice this year and we have won both games by about a combined 250 points. Rain will likely draw us further apart.

If you guys do lose QF, then I hope you smash Carlscum the next week.

Good luck!!

The rain was in relation to your game this Friday - not the QF.

Any eagles fan who saw our 1st half performance against Brisbane last week wouldn't be praying for rain in any final we are involved in.

No one will keep Thomas out of that team.

Edit: Besides the MRP.

Thomas out is a huge sigh of relief.

Obviously Swan racks it up against us regularly, but Didak's the one who worries me the most now.

Whatever form he's in, he manages to turn it on against us.

I didn't necessarily mean Thomas's spot, just a spot in general. That pressure to perform can either work two ways, either they fold, or pull in a blinder. Someone like Blair/Sidebottom/Fasolo/Mcaffer/Buckley (these players I consider the most likely to lose a spot come finals time, of course i may be wrong) could play very damaging football if we dont pay them enough respect, or think our task is so much easier now that Thomas is out.

Wow, way to see the cloud in that silver lining!

Thomas is in their best few, at times this year he has been in the top few in the game. We are much better placed with a fringe player in than Thomas. Regardless of whether said fringe player plays their career game.

Your argument is like the Pies finding out Cox is out and then being scared that Lycett could come in and dominate... I mean it could happen but its bloody unlikely ...

Probably a more apt illustration would be our game against the lions- Daniel Kerr being out would be a bonus for the lions, right? We don't have a player like him. The player though that we have to replace the role he plays is masten, who despite average form, bobs up with 30 touches & three goals. Almost a career defining game.

Sometimes these things happen. I just hope like hell we make sure that we are ready for whoever comes into replace Thomas. Having said that, though, I'm rather happy he's not playing. Just saves me wanting to smash the tv after he kicks those freakish goals he invariably does against us.
