All i care about is the fact he has nothing to do with us anymore. What he does with his life from here on end i could not care less.
Look it's not about being compassionate, If that's what you want then join the priesthood or if your a woman become a nun.
Thomas Roach does not have what it takes to make it at AFL level, it's as simple and realistic as that. If he goes to the Saints the Bulldogs or to Mars, this doesn't mean now that he can cut it.

Could not agree more. As face it if it was not for his name he would never of got a chance.
skybeau I was only saying what I thought. He has never been worth my time or the clubs time. He should be lucky he has lasted as long as he has. As face it he is not much of a player never has been never will be.

you know wat skybeau, its a fact of life that at the end of every season players have to be cut from the list. you were upset about limbach as well i remember. what's up with you? we can't keep everyone, and roach simply wasn't good enough to claim a spot on the list for 2007! same goes for limbach. who would you like to have seen delisted instead of those 2? just let it go!
Whats up with me, backo? Simply, thus...I believed that Tom...and Dean, for that matter...were not given enough of a chance to prove themselves valuable to the RFC, when others less deserving were given such a chance. That's why I'm not letting this go.
Truetiger, I was merely trying to say that Tom Roach, for better or for worse, wore the yellow and black. In my eyes, that's enough for lifelong respect. I do care what happens to him after his RFC days, because of that fact. I don't understand why you couldn't. How can anyone respect Roach regardless if he is wearing a Richmond jumper or not. Players have to earn my and most of our respect. It just does not come by putting on a Tiger jumper. Yes i have hated Roach from day 1. However i will not respect a player that is clearly no good.

He's not worthy of YOUR time, didn't earn YOUR respect.
Such horrible news for the kid on top of the minor disappointment of being delisted from an AFL club.
He'd be shattered.
Seriously, being below par at AFL footy is no reason to hate the kid. He always seemed like a reasonably nice kid, so the least you could do is wish him well for the future. He had a crack, and he wasn't good enough. No real shame in that.

Poor form Truetiger. Is that enough reason to hate the kid?
He tried his best. It wasn't his fault he got picked up in the draft. he was given a chance and didn't quite cut it. No reason to hang the kid out to dry.
As far as I'm concerned, he gave it a go and can leave the caper with dignity because he played 15 odd games more than me and had a crack. He doesn't need to answer anyone other than himself and I'm sure he can look himself in the eye and say that he gave it a decent crack.

Nobody mate. Just a country footy hack like 99.9% on here. Didn't know how many games Tom played, but guessed it was 15 or so. Just illustrating a point that even though he didn't 'make it' at AFL level, he still did better than me and 99.9% of those on here who are happy to pass judgement.

You hate the kid because he is crap?
Earning respect isnt about how good you play footy, its about who you are as a person. Football is only a game and it isnt all to life, if respect is how you play the game then maybe i shouldnt respect you? maybe you shouldnt respect me? maybe most of the people on bigfooty should respect one another?
You might not like him in terms of footy but do you hate him as a person in life? he is a nice guy and would give any tiger fan the time of day for an autograph, in fact he would probably talk to you too.
He gave it his best shot, he was one of the fittest guys at the club and you dont get to that point by not caring about the thing you do.
I myself say good luck to Thomas in the future whether he can resume his AFL Career at another club or not, you gave it your best shot for the RFC and will always have your name in the record books of the mighty tiges as playing for the famous yellow and black.

Ok in regards to my comments on Roach. The answers are simple. I look at the likes of Andrew Raines First senior year was 2004 along the same time as Roach. Look at the 2 now. Raines Runner up in the Rising star as well as playing for his Country. Dean Polo he played very well and he sure put Roach to shame this year and past years. Now Players I respect are ones that will put there body on the line week in and week out. Roach has failed to do that many times. All players not just roach talk to the fans sign there jumpers etc. Respect comes by playing football and playing it well which is something Roach has been lacking sinse he first Started. Yes if a club is stupid enough to take him then yeah good luck to him. However i for one wont be taking much notice in seeing how he goes for the club he may go to. I feel if it was not for his name that maybe he might not of got the chance that he had. He is lucky to have lasted this long as last year he should of been delisted. Why stick up for a player that is only making the numbers on our list for the past few years. If he goes to another club and becomes a good player well done. However I highly doubt that.

Before you guys read this i dont want you to think im a troll or anything , but i think for everyone to respect a player the player needs to respect the club , as in they need to show that they are doing anything and everything in there power to push for selection and play their heart and make it look like they want to play for the club and will put everything on the line for the club. For example when watching david teague playing for carlton in his first year at carlton he put his body on the line and pretty much done everything he could to just get the ball away as you would do if you were a defender what made it even more reason to respect him he wasnt your typical big stronge defender and for that he earnt the respect of everyone the fans and the playing group and also was rewareded with the carlton best and fairest but that year .. where the hell has he gone , he came in round 22 and hes game was just disgraceful didnt look like he wanted to play and for that i have lost all my respect for him and still wonder why the hell is this guy on the carlton list , i guess thats the way Truetiger feels that roach hasnt done everything he could to earn the respect of anyone whether it be the fans or playing group.
