my respect for you i could write on the back of a stamp - your a pig of a man

another big footy, big mouthed, big headed, big loser passes us by...

TO KHAN: people who write offending things like this should be recieving warnings well before someone who miss spells a low grade swear word used to describe "poop" - its these sorta comments which really offend people

A warning for saying what i think. Pfft if you dont like the comments sorry. However everyone is aloud to there say. Which is all i have done. I am talking about him as a football player not him as a person.

Yeah as if i recall we did not pick him up under father son. Raines would of got a go. i have no doubts on that :)
No he didnt go father son but if he wasnt the son of Geoff he wouldnt have gotten picked up by us and probably wouldnt have even nominated until the next year.

Whats up with me, backo? Simply, thus...I believed that Tom...and Dean, for that matter...were not given enough of a chance to prove themselves valuable to the RFC, when others less deserving were given such a chance. That's why I'm not letting this go.

Truetiger, I was merely trying to say that Tom Roach, for better or for worse, wore the yellow and black. In my eyes, that's enough for lifelong respect. I do care what happens to him after his RFC days, because of that fact. I don't understand why you couldn't. I'll say the same thing about David Rodan, who was far from my favourite player, and I'll cheer him on if he starts at another club. Look, I'm a bit of a sucker for the underdog, to be honest...but I still respect every, EVERY player that pulls on our jumper, no matter what he does. I just thought it was a strange comment, that was all...

(well...maybe not Brad Ottens...but the manner of his departure was a disgrace (different disgrace to Tom's and Kella's ;)), IMO...I have no trouble in bagging him)

Look, backo, someone posted on here some other players who were out of contract: Moore, Jackson, McGuane, Knobel, Hartigan. As I said on PRE a while ago, I could find reasons to delist them all, if necessary, with the probable exception of McGuane. I didn't, and still don't, believe that Tom's performances were bad enough to warrant his delisting. As for Dean's performances... even Jacko the no-position man got a go up forward...where was Dean's chance?

But what would I know? Richmond have Kent Kingsley down there running around...clearly I've got no idea about whats going on at our club...

fair enough explaination, sorry for taking so long to reply. i agree kingsley is no good and i would hate to see him at our club, and i also believe that moore and jackson should have been delisted, especially over rodan! but really, i understand you aren't happy with the decisions that have been made. you just need to move on though. i know that terry & greg are doing what they think is best for our club, and i respect their decisions. if it gets to you that much, join the football department so you can have a say yourself!

i feel sorry for roachy i think he shouldnt of got the bullet i still believe he was a part of that new richmond youth coming through. i believe we shouldve kept and waited untill he was about 23, 24 so he could fully develope his body and if he didnt do anything from there then get rid of him and also he had some skill he wasnt afraid to take them on thats what u need from a young player bit unlucky roachy i hope richmond consider re drafting u in the pre season draft i do believe richmond might do that

Gone are the days of keeping a player on your list for six or seven years (if they even existed in the first place) to find out if they are any good.
Simply doesn't happen anymore.

yeah but he had skill and he would of been worth the wait for waiting for his body to mature. if he didnt show anything get rid of him but he did

What skill? Tom showed nothing in his time at Richmond to suggest he could cut it at AFL level so we cut him loose.
Seriously, he was lucky to be getting a game at Coburg last year.

when he was playing for richmond he was taking them on thats good for a young player he showed something and remember he had a couple of injuries that stoped him from getting back into the team

:) EXACTLY! Outside the game against West Coast in Subiaco, name one game he had an impact in? Simple fact, if you play 22 games a year, be it 22 for the yellow and black, 4 for the seniors and 18 at Coburg, 22 at Coburg, or 11 for Coburg and 11 for Shepparton United, the ball is bound to find you eventually for at least one game.
We gave him a year too many!!

Pfffft. Shepp United...the Collingwood of the Goulburn Valley League. I hated that scum with a passion.

Whats the point of having skill if you can not get your hands on the ball. He is one player we did not need. He has been with us for 4years i think . How many more years do you want us to put up with him for while we continue to see him fail.

That West Coast game Iwas so glad to see him play that day and what did he do not alot. I also agree he was with us 1 year to many. Glad to see him go.

football is big business now ,tom wasnt able to produce the justification to keep him on the list , the average afl career is only 3 years , tom roach has been on the list for longer than that and failed to attain the required level . patience can last only so long
