i think richmond should get dowler, quick foward with good size (192 cm) wat we need. Give them maybe and player (jon, schultz, pettifer or meyer) and a 3rd or 4th round pick.

I'm not sure about Dowler. Not convinced and certainly wouldn't be giving up plenty for him.

Which leads me to the scenario as a few on other threads were stating 192cm as not being ideal for a KPF. If we had the choice .... would you look at Dowler (192cm) or Carlton's Brad Fisher (i think 192cm...... good mark but maybe suspect on his kick). Fisher would demand a larger trade deal than Dowler I would suspect.

Mitch Thorp is going to be a quality player. I question him getting a lot of opportunity with Roughy and Buddy in the team. Still I doubt Hawthorn will trade him unless it is a decent deal. I heard that the Bulldogs had asked the question about him, and the Doggies have some young talented defenders which may be in the Hawks interests........

It's unbelievable how Hawthorn can demand top picks in return for their dud recruits.

Lol...Fiora over Pavlich and Tambling over Franklin, let alone over any player.

Anyway, don't know where this source was from, but I hope they won't be traded. Dowler was in the emergencies a few times towards the end of the year after 25+ possession games in the VFL playing in the midfield.

Just wondering what will happen to Zac Dawson. He kicked 8 goals at the end of the year in VFL, but hasn't player AFL in 2 years or so. I would rather trade him than trade Dowler or Thorpe, because they are two quality early first round picks.

As a rule you should never trade with Hawthorn, and I hope Carlton doesn't fall into the trap of trying to bargin with them during the upcoming trade period. Like Essendon, Hawthorn aren't satisfied unless they're completely ripping off the other team involved in the trade.

Thorp is lazy and up himself, while Dowler is just a complete dud. No thank you, the hawks can keep their trash for another year.

id take thorp in a second but not sure for pick 6... if they want pick 24 i would be happy :p but we know thats not giong to happen unless the hawks have lost their marbles

If Thorpe was available I would see Adelaide having a dip, however clubs like WB, Melb and Richmond would all be targeting young forwards

If the Hawks traded Thorp for pick 6 I'd be disgusted.

Spent two years getting over injuries and adding fitness and strength? What would the Don's want for Gumbleton? 5 games, 3 goals... 3rd rounder?

Interesting that you'd throw up Gumbleton as a comparison to support a suggestion Thorp is still worth a no 6 pick (or more).

I think you would get little backing suggesting Gumby would still be worth pick 2 after two seasons of injury. He is two years older with less than expected development.

I haven't seen or heard much about Thorp, which is why I posed the question - what would make him still worth pick 6?

When did JON last kick 7, anyone got any footage of the game?

he would have been in the best in half the games he played in a good VFL side, which is more than I can say for Dowler. I would consider a 3R pick for him which would be a punt on his junior promiose, as he's shown seet FA since

The Op of this thread has some bad form when it comes to trade information...

Josh Kennedy was supposed to go to the Bulldogs last year.

Kane Tenace was supposed to have gone to the Swans last year.

Ben Cousins will only consider Geelong if he can't play at West Coast.

Let's all get one thing clear:

Mitch Thorp signed a 2 year deal about 2 months ago. He is contracted until the end of 2010.

Okay?

Dowler on the trading block far more likely.
