Gee, everyone on the main board (supporters from all non-Poort Power clubs) thinks Rendell was hung out to dry yet the only people out with pitchforks on their high horse are Poort Power supporters here.

OK, so Rendell came out with an explanation for his actions, and although I'm not sure how true that explanation is, if it is true then in context the remarks seem more like a terrible choice of words rather than overt racism.

But where does that leave all the racist KKKrow supporters (mainly on the KKKrows board, not so much on the Bay) who jumped to the defence his comments even when they were out of context? Who defended the comments that Rendell himself condemned?

So you agree that Rendell isn't racist, yet you continue to use the KKKrow moniker? I don't care if you want to call some Crows supporters racist (they may be, who knows?) but you and I both know that Rendell and the club aren't.

Look, this is bay13 and this is a place where you can let your hair down and have a go but the truth is (don't tell anyone!), I have gained a shit load of respect for Trigg and the Adelaide Football Club for their quick and decisive action in condemning racism.

I don't think the Adelaide Football Club isn't racist. Rendell still might be, depending on which version of the story you believe.

I am still going to use the KKKrows moniker, because, rather than being a definitve statement, it's a reference to a) something that may or may not have happened, much like 'Parklands Pete' and b) the racism shown by your supporters in the immediate aftermath of Rendell's comments going public.

However, I'm not going to call Matt Rendell personally a racist, because there is doubt over whether or not his actions were racist or just incredibly stupid. This is the difference between you and I. When there are two sides to a story and neither have been confirmed, I'm not going to make definitive and highly offensive statements that completely ignore one side of that story. This is why I am not under threat of a defamation suit for my posting on Bigfooty, whereas you will be if Peter Burgoyne or Daniel Motlop feels inclined to bring one against you.

Rendell was not some gumby at the local boozer with a skin full.

He is in a position of authority and indeed, influence.

Why do you think that coppers get the book thrown at them and then some, if they're busted doing something wrong? It's because they are in a position of trust and to let down that trust is not acceptable under any circumstances.

It's the same with Rendell and his club and the football community: he made racist comments. The comments weren't floating around in space and suddenly went into his head and out of his mouth; Rendell made them and that makes him a **** ing racist whether he thinks so or not.

Your club are not racist and **** ed off the arrogant, stupid arse hole who brought they're club into disrepute. Hung out to dry indeed! They **** ed him off : good on 'em!

Did they jump to his defence? I'm 10 pages into the first thread and most of the regular posters have condemned him. Some wanted to see in what context, a couple agreed with him and a couple felt sorry for him as his life is now turned upside down.So unless it deteriorates from there I'd like to know who the "all" are. Unless 4-6 posters represents about 20-30 posters.By memory, until the posts were deleted you had the odd show of support on your own board.

And continuing to use the KKKrows tag line is pathetic given you don't believe what he said was racist nor the club is racist.

No, I do think what he said was racist. If what he said on Footy Classified is true, then I don't believe he himself is a racist (although if what Demetriou said is true, then he definitely is a racist), but what he said was unquestionably racist.

So your not sure if he is racist, you don't believe the Crows are racist and there might be a handful of Crows supporters who might be racist and yet you keep it up.

So what's your opinion of the Port supporters who backed what he said as well? And what of Port who wanted to employ him until he knocked them back? Do we now refer to Port Power as White Power?
