Opinion Thoughts on AFLX????

I don't understand how we can have an opinion until we have actually seen a game...

For sure, it's not the real thing, but maybe it's a good idea for grass roots footy... Get more kids involved....

Anything is better than soccer...

Fairly cringeworthy the AFL attempting to basically invent a new sport just for the sake of directly competing with other codes (A-League, Big Bash League/Twenty20, Rugby 7's etc)
Just a stupid idiotic business/marketing idea that someones come up with to justify their job.

I dunno it gives the constant fiddlers in the admin somewhere to act out with out hurting the original product

One thing strikes me though, for all the hooroo about the grand final being better at night, neither the pre season, the aflw or this concept is being put on at night. For some reason the marketers dont believe their own bulldust

Don't mind it, I just wish the AFL would schedule games on rectangular shaped grounds at venues that are designed for this.

We have plenty of grounds that can accommodate these sorts of games, rather than having the crowd on the wings sitting 30 metres away from the side lines...

AAMI Park booked maybe?

The fact we have people calling it a "product" is alarming enough....

Very true - I went to an Origin game at Etihad and it was absolutely dreadful to watch as a spectator.

The whole round robin concept reminds me of the "Lightning Premiership" comp that was held at Waverley in 1996 pre-season...

I don't have anything against the AFLX, clearly the AFL are doing this to appeal to other markets..hence the soccer pitch.. My only feedback on that, this AFLX game would be better played with the round ball if you want to truly make it appealing to international markets.

the only way I can see this happening is with each club playing some of their kids - why on earth would you risk getting your A graders injured in a bit of a slap & giggle game. If clubs aren't keen on letting players play State of Origin do the AFL really believe that the marquis players will be playing!

I would like to ram the risk right up Gill's clacker...when can they just leave the flipping game alone...Gill like the fat heck before him (corrupt fat heck like Gill too) just change the game to leave their names up on the dis-honour board....

Don't give a rat's tossbag about this or AFLW as

t's not fair dinkum and will more than likely not involve a large portion of our best 22 - I will still watch as I'm a Hawks tragic and will be interested to see how the young guys go, however, it's very much a case of bring on round 1.

Can't wait to see how the second year guys go when the heat's on (especially excited to see how Ollie and Harry go with another pre-season under their belts) - and, of course, my namesake is set for a breakout year.

Almost at the point of counting down the days and can't wait for the first instalment from The Axeman.

Gee it's awesome being a Hawk's supporter.

There are still test cricket supporters that hate the T-20 and Big Bash leagues, but it is a great spectacle and draws in plenty of supporters. I have a feeling that's what this will be like.

I'm interested to see it and make a judgement afterwards; just hope they don't go the big bash route in its first season and have a bunch of trapeze artists and trampoline jumpers.

I would like to ram the risk right up Gill's clacker...when can they just leave the ruddy game alone...Gill like the fat heck before him (corrupt fat heck like Gill too) just change the game to leave their names up on the dis-honour board....

They're not changing the game, they're just making a new mini-league. We don't need to be so regressive about footy; sometimes new things are better.
