Nail. Hammer. Head. :)

I thought Perrie played his role VERY VERY well today. He might not be Jonathan Brown or Warren Tredrea but he gives us a big body that provids a contest and if he doesn't mark it he brings it to ground.

In the first quarter we found ourselves screaming "Kick it to Perrie" every time we went inside 50. He took some very good marks and he dropped some but he brought the ball to the ground.

On Hentschel, I would like him to attack the contest a bit harder. He still did a decent job but we need more. On a couple of occasions he was double teamed and sometimes I wonder what key forwards need to do to get a free kick. I also thought he got free a number of times but our players either saw him to late or ignored him. In the last quarter we are breaking away from HB along the members side wing, Hentschel is by himself around 40 meters in front of goal and no one within 30 meters on him. Mattner has the ball on the wing and one Martin Mattner kick would hit Hentschel on the chest, Marty waits for long enough to give the opposition time to recover, he kicks to Hentschel in a 2 on 1 contest.

We need to smarter up when it comes to this sort of stuff.

Skippy was excellent. His little cameo in the second quarter was superb and his match winning goal was in icing on the cake.

I can't believe people haven't mentioned Torney's game on Grant. Gran got a away from him a couple of times especially in the first quarter but overall I though Torney's game on Grant was VERY good.

Thompson is a gun. Tyson who?????? ;)

I'll second that..and that...

Perrie IS Brown and Tredrea when you play us. Never seen the buggar play a bad game. Carey musn't have signed his footy card as a kid or something.

I thought Biglands got his finger out by one more knuckle :)

Take a bow Ben Rutten and Bass....got it working beautifully back there.

Hentschel continues to show he has poise in a tight situation, he will be Pavlich esque in 2 years.

The slimy conditions only matched Laidleys mouth in the end.

Benny wouldve goty plastered last night while Burton probably sooked off home.

Other than that = 4 points :D

1) Perrie was great and I thought he was unfairly criticised after last week's game - several times he had metres on his opponent only for the delivery to be at his shoelaces or too long in the air giving the Bulldogs defenders time to catch him. But yesterday he brought everything to ground and took some strong marks in the wet.

2) His 4th goal would have to be the first time Skippy has ever kicked 50m in his life! I couldn't believe it.

3) I actually thought Torney was a little off yesterday. He gave Grant a couple of metres when Grant was forward and when you give him that sort of space he positions himself so well for the drop of the ball that there is no hope of spoiling. I thought Torns was a little disappointing in regards to his positioning compared to previous weeks. Would have liked him to keep a part time forward to less than 3 goals.

4) Agreed. Even if he ********s up you know he will give 2 or 3 more efforts before he lets the opposition run away with the ball.

Good point though.

He does seem to save his best for when he plays the Kangaroos.

As others have said, he is playing that target role beautifully by either marking the ball or bringing it to ground - always gives a contest and not frightened to earn a hard ball.

If north had a similar target up forward yesterday they would have won.
