Thoughts on tonights game

Although im very pleased with the result tonight i thought we lacked a fair bit again with our poor use of the footy at times, i found it really frustrating with how fancy they tried to be. Its great to see that we are still able to win comfortably without playing great football for 4 quaters, But i really do feel that catter's will produce their best football come next week & the rest of the finals, only question is who to drop for bartel,rooke,im thinking Byrnes & Varcoe most likely ?? your thoughts ???

Definitely Varcoe out. Byrnes not too bad though, I thought. If there were anyone else to omit, I would. Bit sad, really!

Admittedly Byrnes had the ball kicked to him in a 50/50 situation far too many times, but when you lose 100% of those contests you aren't doing enough.

Absolutely, Byrnes and Varcoe to go...Varcoe has been good this season but has dropped off badly in the last few games and Shannon Byrnes...well he tries but not what we need in the finals, bring back Jimmy and Max!

The Cats played a good steady game; nothing amazing and pretty standard play, but they went there and got the job done, without really seeming to need to play their heart out. Very similiar to the North game really; a bit of a good start, the opposition gets within a goal, and then Geelong pulls away again.

Varcoe did nothing. I thought Brynes was pretty good tonight, but when compared to the likes of Bartel or Rooke its a no brainer who plays. However if someone does get injured (knock on wood) Brynes will probably be the first player back based on a decent effort tonight.

Good to see enright hit a bit of form tonight.

They were sloppy with the ball at times. Definitely don't look comfortable with chipping the ball around, which is a worry because at times that's what you have to do. Having said that they clearly pulled down the shutters early in the last quarter and really lost almost all interest in the contest (for which I can't blame them really).

Very impressed with the players I expect to be impressed with, disappointed by those who probably need to do more - all the usual names in both categories, with the only exception being Scarlett who looked a bit out of sorts at times. Overall I thought the margin flattered us a bit.
