Positives
1, i think they used buckley perfectly in the 2nd half players will struggle to pick him up coz his so strong got good speed and floats through the centre when he wants.

2, chris egan besides his shots on goal he looked really good and had a awesome game i think we should play him off the wing more often.

3, old firms holland, lica, burns, o'bree all performed well and hit abit of form

4, fanning looked like he loved the chance to be number 1 ruckman cant wait to we have some of our first choice rucks back he has come along way this season.

Negatives
1, julian rowe, ben johnson need to go back to willy and get a list on things they really need to work on such as kicks handballs stuff like that just the basic skills of footy.

2, Chris Tarrant his not doing much in the side with this injury that he has got i believe we should either get him operated on ready for next year or just rest him which ever will give him time to get right for next year and have a full preseason.

3, leon davis has got to be left in the side he showed some traces of what he is able to do when given the chance, his got some awesome ability we just need to find out where we can best use it.

3, i think same with richard cole he adds some bite to our back line or up the ground i think leave him in as well and work him into a good player that he could be.

Positives:
- Continued form of Lica and Holland
- Buckley dominating up forward
- Egan
- Cole got a few hits in (not a comment on Cole, thought he was poor, just that was good to see him do that)
- Fanning showed tapping potential

Negatives
- Fanning continues to get lost around the ground especially in respect to where is oponent is also many of his hitouts were sharked to easily mostly by Bradley
- Tarrant is horribly out of form
- Davis showed that his best position is a midfielder. However he's not good enough to be left there for long. He needs to be nursed through it and we can't afford it.
- Wakelin is in poor form and almost due to be dropped
- Presti had probably his worse game in around 4 years
- The defence as a whole fell apart for the first time this year
- Clement had little impact
- O'Bree again with some defensive pressure has little influence. However does contribute a little especially with tackling
- Rowe a few soft efforts
-Johnson let too many slip and can't seem to get an ounce of form
-Magpies2005 can't count

I swear you have some sort of weird disorder which makes you pick on the wrong players!
Oh please, tell me one good thing he did all night, he gave away many goals, was smashed in the backline forcing Mick to put him forward as he was a liability down back, still managed to contribute to goals for Essendon as Sheedy knew he wouldnt man up so put Solomon on him and let him run free

I had Essendon supporters comparing him to henneman and Bolton he was that ********

I will never understand why he is so loved by all and can never do anything wrong

My thoughts - the swear filters simply would not allow what i have to say! Very interested how the club approaches this performance, and how the supporters do aswell. This, and last weeks performances are totally unacceptable - and don't give me the young kids and injuries crap that continually pours out of the Lexus centre. Last week was bad enough, but to be flogged by a Bumbers seconds side tonight simply does not cut it. In many years of supporting and barracking for this club - tonight was one of the worst I have seen. If the club tries to deflect or justify anything about tonight then we aint going anywhere, and are moving away from what i love the most about this club - heart and passion for the jumper. How 'bout we get this Wizard character to keep his 8 mill, and cast a spell on this no ticker bunch of overpaid pretenders, and make then realise that all we want from them is 100 mins of effort once a week.
Geebus, i am still filthy 1/2 an hour after getting home from the game, where I sat amongst the whinging Essendon braindead and 4 rows in front of the dribbling unbearded burbler - in hindsight, I could have just stayed home and given myself paper cuts all night and poured lemon juice on 'em for the same effect.

There were a couple of occassions where he stuffed up defensively, but Henneman and Bolton? Fair suck of the sav, he wasn't even remotely bad as those duds.

He was hard at the contest all night, took a few strong marks and uses it well. He's not a bad player.

Maxwell beat Lucas on Anzac day.
Maxwell beat Sampi.
Maxwell beat Corrie.
Maxwell beat N.Davis.
Maxwell beat all his Port oponents.
Maxwell beat C.Gardiner
That's only off the top of my head.
I am not saying he fully blanketed them but he definately took the points.

Thats quite funny stuff there, just wondering what do you considering beating an opponent to involve?

Beating an oponent = making sure your oponent has very little impact on the game.
Then wipe half those games from the list

You said he beat Corrie? Did Maxwell actually get near Corrie all night last week?

He beat whoever he played on against Port? Umm, No.

His spoiling is not that great against a stronger player, when on a smaller player he likes to run off them and provide some run, his disposal is ordinary however, his handballing and decision making hilarious to watch. He lacks defensive pressure on his opponent. Many bag Jason that he can only play 3rd man up, loose in defence. Maxwell attempts this yet fails to touch the ball most of the time. And when he played forward tonight Sheedy exploited him as a weak link and he played an attacking player on him who maxwell refuesed to go near

Positives

Fanning will make the grade as an AFL footballer
Egan is a gun
Buckley proved he can play as a forward which may prolong his career beyond 2006
Holland is an outstanding footballer
J Cloke B Shaw H Shaw Davidson and others will get a chance in the seniors very soon, probably this week for 2-3 of them.

Negatives

Davis is playing near his best which means he has no improvement in him.
Too many players half fit, Johnson and Tarrant especially but T Cloke also went into the game proppy.
Continuing unwillingness by MM to move players around, eg Maxwell or Clement into the forward line
Hall not ready yet and playing because he's the only one available.

Am I the only bloke here who never had any doubt about this?

Close to the first time ever that Bucks has spent any more than 10 minutes up forward. All he needs/needed is to stop pushing/being pushed back into the midfied. Great mark, phenomenal kick...zero doubt ever!!

Probly.

Nobody should ever doubt Buck's ability, but until a person actually does something, questions remain about whether they can do it. His haul of five is probably close to his career best, which is pretty ordinary considering he's Collingwood's best ever player.
