tough race dan boroness each way and romneya straigh out.

chris symons has a very nice book of rides expect him to punch out some winners;
Race 2- 10 diamonds only
Race 3- 2 dandaad**
Race 4- Overtake (Born princess will be hard to beat in this race though)
Race 5- Sunburnt Land
 
Kimillsy has a nice formline running some nice places behind Samantha Miss so he might be worth having a peck at especially as he has drawn a nice barrier close to the rails so should be right on the pace. Not too keen on Romneya, drawn too close to the rails and I can't see it getting through the field from the rails, not even the best of horses can do that.
So my tip for the Guineas is Kimillsy. :thumbsu:

In my eyes the only way Gallica will get beat is by luck. Cats Whisker had 300m to run her down at Flemington and was lucky if it took 5cm off her.
 
Have heard lots of positive things about The Annihilator in the 2 year old, Race 2.
Unfashionable trainer, jockey & breed, but if it runs like its 800m trial form over the full 1000m they will not see which way it went. It's times made Noesis look slow, but bringing that to the real game well...........Noesis has but can this one?

Has opened 3rd fav on TAB sportsbet at $4.20.

My folks raced a horse with Quinton around the time he had Cogitate,super little horse he was.
I saw one of its trials,looks a ready made 2yo alright

He's a big boy, & certainly popular amongst other trainers.
Had a little piece of a couple with him, & yet to get 1 to the track.

This horse was bred at Rangal Park. His sire Superior Sateen (Danehill - Shanthas Choice) is the younger brother of a couple of handy ones Platinum Scissors & Redoutes Choice. Hope it goes well for him he is due for another good one.

You may want to have a few $$$ on it, just for old times sake Seth. ;)

My tips for the 8 race card.

R1 - Poor field of 8 for a mid-week $60k race. Bright Deputy for mine.
R2 - The Annihilator
R3 - Red Square
R4 - Born Princess
R5 - The luckless Sunburnt Land (will be mighty short however)
R6 - Kimillsy
R7 - Sparkling Satine (one at odds, Soul Diva)
R8 - Raeburn

Good luck to those having a wager, even better luck to those on course!!!
 
I think Cocinero in Race 5 at $21 currently on fixed odds is great value. 3 of its last 4 runs have been at Group 1 level and its other run was 2nd to Bel Mer at Caulfield over this distance. 1st up form is just decent but IIRC it was apparently flying in work before its 1st up assignment last spring, but drew barrier 1 in one of the big races down the straight at Flemington and had no chance from the draw with the grandstand bias. Colonel Parker is currently 2nd favourite and Cocinero beat him by over 2 lengths over the same trk/distance earlier in the year and also meets him 2kg better at the weights in this. Will have some each way and on the quinella with Sunburnt Land, I think they both have a decent class edge on this field. I just hope Cocinero is forward enough in condition.

Sparks Fly in the Guineas for me too just for an interest.
 
I'll be going for value in the 1000 guineas, my tip is Dan Baroness. This filly has an impressive ability to go BANG for a short distance. She gets a pocket rocket up her ass and flies past the horsies then doesn't know what to do once she gets to the front. If Arnold can keep her on the rails and give her a crack 200m out she might just fly past them and hopefully hold on from any swoopers. Of course I might be delusional and she might not run the distance, we will see tomorrow. I just hope she can jump with the field and go to sleep on the rails THEN WAKE HER UP AND UNLEASH THE BEAST !!!
