I have been more than a little guilty of falling into cynicism and negativity about the leadership of the club and the direction they are taking. For my own sanity, I should start focusing on more positive aspirations and recognising good progress being made by the club. Now that we are on the eve of the preseason getting underway in earnest it seems to be as good a time as any to start.

In the season ahead I'd like to see us:
  • play an entertaining brand of football that makes it a joy to go the the footy again
  • have enough confidence in our systems to focus more on what we will do and less on what the opposition will do, and to not throw our structures out when injury and suspension hits
  • return Adelaide Oval to being an intimidating venue for visiting teams
  • fiercely promote and protect our unique traditions including campaigning for the return of the prison bars
  • show clear, united, accountable on and off-field leadership and not let ourselves down by continued off-field indiscretions
  • publicly call out dubious decisions and actions that negatively impact the club and assertively challenge them
  • start delivering real dividends from the China strategy
  • make forward progress towards a future women's team
  • not claim mission accomplished if we just make finals
I'll try my best to recognise positive steps taken by the club in this thread. Feel free to post your own aspirations and join in.

I, of course, reserve the right to continue to make cynical, smart-arse comments in the many other threads set aside for this purpose.

I like the thread title. Took me a bit to track the source down as I don't play video games, but it was hard to avoid reading about Red Dead Redemption a few months back. Had to search Google with 'video game, red, cowboys'.

I would like to see us win 1 out of the first 7 then fly home with a 11-4 record.

Scrape in the 8, win 4 away finals and our captain call the team up to lift the premiership cup.

Then I will purchase a replica cup and shine a teal LED on it for all my guests to admire.

:)

I want to see us win a flag. Anything less is inconsequential. Our standards have slipped way too far when playing exciting is seen as a pass mark.
Given where we've been in recent years I'll be happy with a return to 2013/14 play-good-footy-and-do-damage-in-finals kind of season. But yes, a flag would be nice.

After a couple months of barely posting and not thinking about footy, im now itching for the season to start.

Weve got a good squad, updated gameplan. We can do it

I like this thread. Hopefully we retain st least one ( ie this one) for positivity. Would be nice if posters could refrain from shitposting on here as we have the negative stuff well covered iin hundreds of other threads.

SPP looks set for a big year if the internal trial is anything to go by. Lycett will be good in the ruck with the added bonus of allowing Ryder to spend more time forward. Liked the look of Duursma as well.

Thanks to those who reported back from the Members Convention. Sounds like our list management forward planning was a positive and we're creating a warchest to target Lukosius or Rankine in a couple of years. Also good to hear the stories about Hammer's rehab.
