Great CD.
These guys sound similar to The Used, however (going by there video clips) they are probably even more commerical (sellouts?). So no doubt, none of you guys (music board regulars) will like them. As they are not obscure (Muse/Beck etc.) and they are (probably) liked by 16 year olds. - this immediantly eliminates them from 95% of your play lists.

But to anyone who is open minded and CAN like Heavey Commerical music (eg. The Used/Linkin Park) check them out. It really grabbed me on the third listen.

-for the record, I also like Muse and don't mind Beck.

Not the responses I'd expected.

I have no idea if they're veiwed as sellouts or whatever.

I've never heard ANYONE EVER mention them.

I'm basically going by the start of the "I'm Not Okay" song..

"I don't do karate, I don't know how to act...blah blah blah...I just want to" Just seems like a very "selloutish" video clip. I'd never heard of them before, thought that song was ok, like helena, so i checked out the CD. Great.

Probably listened about 5 times now, really like song #6.

Not really my kinda music but i often like a band out of the ordinary and into this side of things (Gyroscope, something corporate, getaway plan) and i really like this album. Ive heard it being labelled as the saviour of rock and scoffed at that with a chuckle but its a good, new age hard/emo, album with some real get-ya-going kinda tunes, good stuff when ya in the mood.

I think they are alright.

I like the song Demolition Lovers from "I brought you my love..."

Track 4 is pretty solid on Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Like the start.

I've loved My Chemical Romance for a few years now. Their first cd is a killer. The tracks are pretty raw.. But songs like "Vampires Will Never Hurt You", "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville" and "Demonlition Lovers p2 " are pretty incredible.

The "new" cd (and by new, I mean over a year old already) is a lot more polished then their first cd, with a lot more radio friendly tunes. "I Never Told You What I Do For A Living", "To The End", "It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A ********ing Deathwith" and "Thank You For The Venom" are by far the standouts.

Hopefully they do end up coming here in December.

I imagine they'd be around the same cost as Green Day earlier in the year, and Blink 182 last year (think around $65). If you think that's expensive, compare it to local singer Delta Goodrem, who managed to charge around $100.

So when you think about it... $64 is damn awesome for The Used, Killswitch Engage, Funeral For A Friend, Rise Against, Story Of The Year, Behind Crimson Eyes, and possibly more local bands. Bargin.
