That is quite remarkable. Brad Scott is probably closest to the mark for mine. Thomas and Hayes were both good, but Goddard was everywhere the entire game.
The panel post game was Harley, Matthews, Cometti and Johnson. The wind causing Cometti's hair piece to flutter just showed that Garry Lyon possibly has more body hair than all 4 panelists have hair on their scalps.
I know the AFL have a fair bit on their mind this week but does anyone know if the GF Sprint will be on again? Wouldn't mind seeing Armfield have a crack.

Hayes had 11 tackles by half time, his effort was enormous. I thought him and goddard were on par yesterday. Might be different what i saw live to whats on tv thou?

As much as it pains me to say it thought Nick Maxwell was sensational yesterday.
Yeah you can say he only plays that loose man in defence role, but that is his role and he played it brilliantly yesterday.
Fantastic mark in the dying stages nearly won them the game.
Great Captains effort. Has come on leaps and bounds in both playing and leadership capacity in the past two years.
to the umpires, thought they were fantastic. Shame the rest of the season isn't umpired in the same manner.

Think Lloyd has done the best job. He's the only one to have hayes and goddard as the two best. Steve Rielly should be given the day off next week. To not have Goddard in the top 3 is inexcusable for a football "expert"

I have no doubt the Saints would have won.
Being at the game it may have been easier for me to see it, but the Saints were all over them in the 2nd half. Pies came out with a bang, but in the 2nd half many of the Saints' main players really stood up and started to fire.
The first half was as fierce a contest as I've ever seen - fast paced, tough and chaotic - completely the way that Collingwood love the game to be played. They were, therefore, able to dictate terms. In general play they annihilated St Kilda, and had it not been for some really poor kicking in front of goal (take note, Travis Cloke), the game would have been all over at half time.
The 2nd half was a different game. Nowhere near as fast, and the game was clearly slowed down - the way St Kilda love it. They strangled the Pies who only scored 1 goal in the half. The Saints were all over them. 5 more minutes and the game would have been over, we'd be here laughing at Collingwood losing another grand final that should have been theirs.
Pies will be favourites for next week according to the bookies and rightly so, but I'll be switching my tip to the Saints. Another week of fitness training to Dal Santo who clearly wasn't right yesterday, and I reckon the Saints will win. They would've taken more out of yesterday than the Pies, IMO.
