Yep, I think this is the ultimate dream. Especially if you add Sier to this list.
I’m not that fussed about Sier because I know what he can do, but it would be a good platform for him to play round 1 if he can play all the JLT games.

They play different positions. Bianco half back. Daicos half forward. Bianco needs to go past Quaynor, Noble, Appleby and Greenwood. That's a tougher task.

At moment he be Ahead of Greenwood because of Injury.

I am not 100% Sold on Appelby, IQ only played a Few Games at AFL Level. So at this Moment I have Nobel best out of the Lot.

So I don't think its Impossible IF he goes past a Few

I think Bianco would break into the wing sooner than the backline. He is possibly a little outside at the moment for a backline role, but could get away with it on the wing. I expect that is where we will see him in the ressies (especially as we have a lot of depth in the med / small defender position). I do think he’s a fair way back though - and well behind josh daicos.

and Can Actually give the Forward Line great Ball Delivery which we have Badly Lacked Recently

Also good to hear he came back in lot better shape then this time last year

I hope Bianco goes well too TD. I reckon he's a good prospect but I think he might need a few preseasons to build his strength up for AFL.

Agree he does need to get Stronger but has is a Good User of the Ball and something we do lack

Okay, I'll admit I'm bored.

Interested to hear your top five 'non-best-22' selections you'd like to see during the preseason series (whatever it is called this year), and/or 'non-traditional-positions'. Mine below.

1. Murphy. Got to give him a bank flank and let him have a go at it. We need greater contribution from some of these younger types as our list didn't go forwards over the trade period (in fact, losing Beams arguably sends us back if anything along with ageing of Mayne, Varcoe, Pendles, etc). He needs to demand a spot on a flank or wing, and the preseason games are where it starts.
2. Quaynor. As above, but he gets a pocket. To make room, we could move Maynard or Crisp to a wing or midfield. Give Quaynor the job to lock down on one of the dangerous small forwards from the opposition.
3. Keane. A bit of a speculative obviously, but I'd like to see him get some time (although only a bit) at full back in the preseason. Dunn and Roughead only have 1-2 years left each at best, and the cupboard is bare beyond them (Moore and Kelly injury prone). Let's see what he's got, or let's move him on.
4. De Goey majority in midfield. I do think he will spend 65-75% in the forwardline during the year, but I'd like to see him play predominantly full time midfield during the preseason. Elliott plays better deep when he gets space from De Goey, so it may end up strengthening our midfield (which is weak) without compromising our medium forwards (which are strong)
5. Stephenson to play attacking half back. I'd love to see what he could do with a whole field in front of him when he gets the ball and the licence to run. I know it won't happen during the season, but it could spark an instinct in him that would ultimately see him end up on a wing.

Yours?
Like all of that... though would like to think that Darcy is over the majority of him problems

1. Max Lynch to CHB
2. Atu to a defensive role
3. Murphy up forward

The first two are a long way back in their current roles so perhaps Lynch can replicate Roughead and Atu’s defensive mindset as a fwd could work for him down back 🤷‍♂️

I’m a fan of the traditional 193cm mobile hard leading FF which Mihocek currently offers and Murphy’s fearless in the air so maybe it’s a goer.

I like 2 and 3. I reckon Atu has the physical attributes to be an excellent small defender. Murphy is definitely worth exploring as a forward and reckon he could work as a hard leading Tom Lynch style forward with his running power. He just needs to learn leading patterns. Does he have the acceleration needed? Thats my big query there

I reckon Lynch's best bet is to continue his development as a ruckman. He's got a big line in front of him if he were a key defender also. He has a bit of the Crockers about him for mine where his development arc seems to have him falling short of the level. That said big men take more time so he has that on his side.

I think both Lynch and Atu are up against it, but the other thing to consider, probably more so in Lynch’s case, is external opportunities. Another club may be semi interested in throwing him a lifeline whereas the flexibility to play a dual role could tip him over the edge.

That’s my concern with Murphy. God forbid it happens, but what if Mihocek goes down we have no real presence up there (Cox doesn’t do enough, IMO).

Wilson might be the other option but he would need a big preseason.

Our depth at key forward is attrocious and something we have really failed to address. Our depth chart looks like Mihocek > Cox > Reid > Kelly > Wilson which is pretty dire when you consider the combination of quality, durability and experience.

I agree Murphy is worth a trial there for that reason and because he has some playing qualities that fit the role. Wing is the other area I reckon Murphy could be used with his running power and size.

we could have had Jake Riccardi, mind boggling decision. I'm bullish on Murphy, can see him as a utility. (back, wing or forward. the new Goldsack)

1. IQ to replace Greenwood
2. Murphy to replace Aish
3. Noble to replace Mayne
4. Keane to replace Roughead IF he is needed up forward
5. Tyler Brown to get at least 10 games

Darcy Cameron can play up Forward

Sounds good to me 👍

Looking forward to more time for Daicos as a forward mid and Quaynor down back, both very exciting players. Dunno about the third, maybe a different tack, I'd like to see a bunch of our blokes get selected for 20-22 games in 2020 instead of the waves of injury we have suffered.

Daicos is the one I’m keen to see, he has looked like a bit of a boy playing a mans game, the smarts and talent is obvious to me but he needs to step it up. I am bullish but I have also said his name maybe a factor so I do try to recognise that.

I'd love to see Dunn make it back but it's going to be tough for him.
If he & Roughy could hold down KPD places in the 2nd half of the year it would allow us the flexibility to throw Moore forward when our tall forwards aren't gelling. Moore is looking like a high quality KPD, but he would cause some opposition headaches if we switched him at any stage.

Me too, of course. Who can forget the feeling when the ball came within, oh, 20 metres of Daics senior? We would bellow and scream, and the opposition would wilt and wince. It blinds me (or at least skews what I see) and its unfair to Josh Daicos.

Your basic point is sound and I could not agree more. He is small, but so assured and skilled. i feel like he can be his own player and win a place in our 18.

I don't see it with Josh. I don't see the high level of skill that people see (or probably want to see) in Josh. That, coupled with pretty limited running talent and a small body means it is a long shot.

I think most people want him to succeed because of his last name rather than himself. If his name was Josh Black, not Josh Daicos people would be treating him the way they did Blair.
