Ok...so 3 talks ut is and Corey first play.
Hogan will miss out for GAJ, not that he did anything wrong, but someone has to miss out for Scarlo. Sadly I think Hawkins is the weakest ATM. Lonergan needs to and will stay. Wojo seems to have got some of hic mojo back. Duncan continues to impress. Mackie was beter and is one of bombers favored sons.

Corey won't be in - Thompson pretty much said that after the game.

Hogan for Ablett, and as for who goes out for Scarlett, very hard to say. Maybe Lonergan, because don't forget the backline is already pretty tall, and that's without Scarlett. Wojo should stay, we're going to need all the run we can against Sydney.

Hawkins would be stiff. I thought he tried pretty hard today. You could see he was struggling somewhat but kept working. Interestingly had more of the ball than either Mooney or Pods (who were both excellent too). Just needs to start converting chances.

Good position to be in though.
I agree Partridge. Some of the disposal to him was deplorable. I couldn't count how many times he was bending down trying to pick it up on the bounce. Terrible kicking to him.

Going to be tough to see who sits out.

Johnson is not a tall fwd, plays the elusive opportunist role of a small, just happens to be a med/tall, but doesn't threaten the opposition in the air, he plays better with the 3 talls option.
Varcoe and Byrnes, Chappy etc, all benefit when the focus of the oppo/defence is more focused on our talls, and what's more their giving us the results on the score board.

The Pods influence has been transforming for Mooney and Hawkins as well, he's a very unselfish player. Good to see Hawkins leading up and presenting himself as a target more often and making space and drawing defence players.

The scoring has elevated, like to see how we handle Sydney utilising the 3 big guys.

Just an observation. Couldn't get to the game yesterday but watched it on Fox. Hawkins I thought played much better this week and was tough when needed. When he lines up for goal, the camera angle was right behind him on two ocassions and the ball went exactly where he ran into to kick. Even before he kicked it, you could see where it was going to go. Someone at the club needs to view the footage and straighten him up, aim for the middle of the goal with his run up, not rocket science there.
Just an observation.

it was quiet windy down the city end yesterday manly in the first half wind dropped off a bit in the second.

l herd people bagging Hawkins in the ground yeah he needs to get better and that will happen, but some of the kicks to him have been worm burners not easy when your a baby monster, most kicks to pods have been lace out.

l thought the 3 talls worked quiet well but its only Richmond. it will be much harder game next week the swans have a better defensive unit and run off the back line. And they have a more attacking style this year so it wont be easy.

Actually they have not, most of the time the delivery has been ok yes, but high, far from lace out, so he has had to one grab and take contested marks rather than just stuff on the lead.

But yes, I take your points about Hawkins. He was better yesterday. Pods is still clearly performing better than him, but that's only if it's a comparison, which it isn't and Bomber won't make it into. Hawkins will still be a good player in the future.

Better than good P.O. His big problem is he lacks confidence. If he had Fev or Brown's assertiveness he'd be a 70 goal a year forward.

Still think Hawkins will be a very good player for us but when Rooke comes back he'd be the one I'd drop. Fowardline is too big with those 4 plus S.J. Especialy if Ottens rests their. That's not a knock on Hawkins though. Pods at the minute is looking like one of the beat forwards in the game on that next teir behind Reiwoldt, brown and Bradshaw and Pav
