Your point three is a little wrong. You forget your playing on a small ground, bigger ground and you will find it much tougher, see you in a couple of months.

SCG is longer than last year, thanks to the redevelopment and its wider than the Adelaide Oval. Its not as small as people like to think

Ground Sizes:
MCG - 160m x 141m
Adelaide Oval - 167m x 123m
SCG (2013) - 152.5m x 136m
SCG (2014) - 155m x 136m

So basically the 6 meters each way you gain at the Adelaide Oval, you give back on the wings. Plus we have already won this year at the MCG and the Adelaide Oval.

Also the SCG before the Hill was redeveloped into the Victor Tumper Stand was 149.5m x 136m

So just 5 meters off being as large as the MCG. So we can toss the idea that the SCG is a small ground now

And we seem to do a hell of a lot of winning on other grounds

But seemingly after a loss the opposition spout the wait til we get you on a bigger ground crap

Just more room for tippett i guess

Wider ground suits port more as well as their lover david king kept saying

So

Adelaide Oval 167 x 123 = 20,541 square mts

SCG 155 x 136 = 21,080 square mts

Obviously they are not rectangles but it should be close enough.

Be a pleasure to play on the micro sized Adelaide Oval where our pressure will be further felt.

1. Nick Smith. Please God let someone outside our club finally realise how fantastic he is.

2. Port are the best team we've played all year...and we had their measure. Season on bitches!!!!

3. That grand old dame the SCG truly is a wonderful place when it's packed with red and white. Feels so long since we've seen her fly like that. But damn...today was great.

3a...Buddy...goosebumps. Goodes and Buddy both in our team. Pinch me. :)

Adam Goodes is amazingly good when taking his age into consideration these days.

Can only really go full speed in a straight line now, wait until the finals to see him let rip for one last hurrah.

1. Great to see this sight again - a full house at the SCG. Who needs ANZ!

2. Richards and Shaw are still very important players in our backline, we would be in a spot of bother if either of them went down.

3. Port play like the Swans did in 2012 - never say die. However the Swans still know how to dig deep under pressure.

1. Mcglyn is super important to us.
2. If our midfield was on song we would of won comfortably.
3. Franklin is just a star.

The SCG is bigger than Adelaide oval. Why do people keep posting that Port's plan wouldn't work as well at the SCG?

FWIW here are the official ground sizes taken from your club's official website.

Interestingly not only is the SCG bigger than the AO, but it's actually larger than Etihad, Simonds Stadium, and ANZ stadium. Debunks the myth that the ground is a postage stamp once and for all.

Adelaide Oval 167m x 123m total area = 16,132m
SCG 155m x 136m total area = 16,556m

Well done guys ... Really tough contest from the best two teams ATM.

I think the length of the field, not the area, is the issue at stake. One tends to KICK sideways at times, but most of the RUNNING goes forward and back. Add an extra 15m to the length, then times that by the number of forward and defensive runs ... Effectively adds 10% to the running effort. Anyway time will tell ... See you at the longer Adelaide oval, with 50,000-odd insane Power supporters baying for a Port win - not just Kingy in the commentary box!;)

1. Port really should be flag favourites. I don't like our chances in the return match if Polec is back and Hartlett fully fit. September will be very interesting and I'd love to see Port v Swans GF
2. Team needs to look at helping whoever has Kane Cornes / Ryan Crowley / ...
3. Buddy is worth every cent

1. The Buddy deal looks to be the right move (even factoring the latter years). He can do freakish things and turn a game on its head in a matter of minutes, those players are worth their weight in gold. He also does all the hard stuff, defensive pressure, tackling, aggression etc. He's a superstar, but not a one-way player that usually comes with the superstar title. Complete package & x factor
2. Benny adds a lot of firepower to the midfield, we were a little flat without his tenacity.
3. BJ needs to spend more time in the 2's. More confirmed rather than learned, but he's still very raw and would be better off developing in the 2's. I think it's time to give our other options a look in. With Jetts, Cunningham, & Rohan available, BJ's pace isn't entirely necessary. I'd be looking to get some development into one of our other kids just in case they're required at the business end.
3.b) Does BJ's inclusion mean the writing's officially on the wall for ROK? It would appear that, barring a significant injury list, he wouldn't be considered for senior selection?

1. Buddy is awesome
2. Goodes still has it
3. Lloyd is a star

I cannot wait for the Hawks board meltdown tonight after the Buddy show today.

Nah, still love him and he did great things at the Hawks. Will always be a legend. Just love watching the greats play. Even when Judd was getting it into space on Friday night and I was cursing as loud as any you still had to admire his ability to find space in traffic, offload and find a team mate in space.

1: the D-train needs to be put into sidings for general maintenance, Time to bring in the canadian express!
2: Port aren't as unstoppable as i thought we played we'll below par today, yet still had control for 3/4
3: arrive at least 1.5 hrs before the bounce for big games or get stuck at ground level next to a professional cheer squad.
4: seriously, it should be renamed the port choir ****ing church having, hymn singing mother****ers!

Tippett, McGlynn and Pyke easily cancel out Polec and Hartlett.

No, he hates us just watch him spew shit before, during and after games and during the week on afl360. He's a brain damaged, self important ******* campaigner.

Actually in yesterdays Hun he wrote a glowing write up of us and said he expected us to easily account for port based on our contested ground ball gets.

I think he was so glowing in praise for port because he was genuinely shocked at how close they got at the scg.

Sorry, I've got 10:

1. It was very pleasing to see we can beat the best when our midfield is down, but I'm not sure we can get away with that on the bigger grounds.

2. We can not carry Derrickx into the finals.

3. All fears Buddy is past is best have now been well and truly put to bed.

4. Hanners still has a little way to go to learn how to cope with a hard tag.

5. We don't have a better shut down player than McGlynn and he is vital if we are to combat the best midfields in the league.

6. Jetta still gets worked out of contests too easily.

7. Our defence is criminally underrated.

8. Lloyd is a mini-McVeigh - so skilled and cool under pressure.

9. We need to give more game time to Rohan if he is going to be a factor in the 2nd half of the season.

10. We really could have used Mitchell today.
