Will have to find some time to watch this. Was 13yo at the time and considered it quite a big deal at the time, especially creaming Carlton. The scenes after the match will be long remembered.

Those were the days, back when the preseason comp used to mean something and beating the reigning premiers Carlton, our hated rivals, was like winning a flag.

It was a packed house at Waverley too, it was like a legit Grand Final, the atmosphere was incredible.

Winmar was unbelievable that night winning the Michael Tuck medal.

I don't care what anyone says that 1996 Ansett Cup should take pride of place in our trophy cabinet, the last great preseason trophy.

Watched it at the Napier Hotel in Fitzroy.... from memory the owner was a massive Saints Fan.
