Hi,
What do u guys think of Thurgood, showed alot of dash for a fairly tall bloke, though needs to bulk up a bit in my opinion.
How much do u expect him to play in 2006 and will he be a major contributor to the hawks side?
Thanks
SB

hey mate,
he is super courageous however he kept getting hurt. needs a strong pre season and he could be a real contributor next season. i expect him to be a regular in 2 seasons. leave him down back i say but can play off a wing and even in the forward line. his last game against sydney showed us a glimpse of what he has to offer.

His 2004 season for Box Hill was absolutely superb and played through some injury problems. Terrific judge of the ball in flight and has great pace.

Needs another big pre-season. He has all the want and courage in the world, but we need to get his body right.

I rate him extremely high, and i think most of the media do to...

He reminds me of a young Jon Hay (touch wood), with better disposal.....Just wait till he bulks up..

Hay was certainly scrawny as a 17 year old, but it is worrying that Thurgood is so matchstick at 20.

Would love to see him pile on some kilos, as he would make a fab FB with some extra padding, but I get the feeling that he's destined for a flanking role.

Like everyone has said, I would love to see thurgood bulk up......... He is very pacy and i really hope he can keep his pace and I love his courage when the ball hits the deck you will never see him back out of a contest when the balls on the ground his always head over the ball and always attacking

I think a good preseason will really boost thurgoods confidence and i would love to see him back him self more running out of the backline like he has done every once and a while...If josh can come more accountable for his man he will be a very solid player for us

Will be a handy contributor, but is open for injury until he gets some weight on. Pretty tough fella so it wont bother him to much, but still needs to get his body a pretty stronger.

Could play a variety of roles, have no doubt he'll be a player when he puts some weight on, how long that will be remains to be seen. Todd Viney said in his last TWT that he reckons he could almost do it in one big pre-season, but most likely it'll take him 2-3 more pre-seasons before he's solid enough to play a more key role.

Handy off the flank for now.

Ditto CS, it's not just his weight, he needs to become physically stronger. He might be like a M.Tuck that never really got any bulk to his frame but became a very strong sinewy type that could stand his ground with most opponents.

Yep. Reckon he might develop into a midfielder too. He's very quick, clever and courageous. Body is a worry but i'm confident we've got a good player here.
