I used to think that Thurley was a waste of a position on the list - now I think he is more than handy.

I kind of think he is a permament forward now, allowingChappie and Ablett to be more mdfielders than half forwards.

Steve Johnson is also a handy player but me thinks him in place of Gardiner if givn the choice, something like:

Ablett Playfair S Johnson
Thurley Ottens Kingsley

With chapman and Ablett switching midfield...

Maybe they are looking for when Riccardi retires?

Stevies hands, taps, blocks, dinky kicks and stuff are SO FREAKING CREATIVE IT GIVES ME THE WOOD. I am sorry but Johnson is the most creative permenent forward we have. Also he is VERY hard to match up on, quicker than he looks, can take an overhead grab and is amazingly talented on the deck. He is the type of forward that gives opposion coaches headaches because usually he doesnt have a player who would automatically play on him, like a full back to full forward or some similar thing.

Thurley is mad, good player but at the for sheer talent (and @rse!) Johnson has it all over him. Go back and watch the couple of games Johnson played for us earlier this year, watch what he does to bring other players into the game. To have him fully fit for a year would be WICKED! To think that we will get WOJI and him back next season (stevie hopefully this) is like getting two top quality trades!

so yeah, I guess I may have been wrong on cameron. he was fantastic on sat'y and did a lot of things I didn't know he was capable of. although it was only one game and perhaps making judgements now would be a tad premature, he did show signs that he could fulfil the missing link in the forward line in the absence of sj. whilst admitting that I may have been wrong on him I wonder if any of you baggers out there (which is pretty much everyone apart from myself and one or two others) is prepared to give jimmy rahilly any credit for his game on sat'y...

I remember seeing one of his games earlier in the season where I thought he had very quick hands, there were a couple of instances on the weekend where he proved this again, he's looking to be a handy player for us.

Yes, he played to an average AFL standard. Keep in mind that we won by 80 points though, harder to play badly when the team is going that well.

Realistically he is filling C. Enright's spot, and unfortunately for him it will be back to the 2's when Boris is back.

I understand that he is not in the best 22, and there is no doubt whatsoever that he'll make way for boris. our best 22 is very good though too, so its no slur on anyone to not be in that team.

and yes, he did play very well on the w'end. I find it staggering that not many have acknowledged that fact yet everyone loves to bag him when the chips are down.
