Been to both quite a few times. The under rated Docklands, you are right, it is serviced well but most Victorians seem to hate the place for some inexplicable reason.

The over rated MCG is a fair walk from the CBD, generally has gridlock around the ground, and has a shitty train station servicing it.

It's less than 1.5kms depending on where in the CBD you're coming from, has 10 train lines dropping off passengers right out the front (between Richmond & Jolimont station) and multiple tram lines. Maybe leave this discussion to people that regularly attend the ground than those who turn everything into a #VICBIAS rant.
