I am 69 yrs old and have been a Gold member for many years and the only ticket I could get was in the Western stand in the clouds, what a disgrace by the AFL to sell both Adelaide and Port on the same day.Next year I will not be a Gold member apart from the Gf there's no benefits.

Same crap as last year.

They released seats in the Bradman Stand to the general public!

There were still some single tickets available in the Bradman Stand for non-Adelaide Oval Crows members a few minutes ago.

All finals tickets went on sale today, not just Crows and Port games.

And in terms of gold memberships - I don't believe the club advertise it as any more than a Grand Final Guarantee. They've never given Gold members special priority finals ticketing.

The fiasco in my eyes is Ticketek. For some reason they kept logging me out when I was trying to buy tickets, and they would make me re-set my password each time I tried to log back in.

Gold membership provides no finals benefits other than the grand final guarantee. It doesn't claim to.

I honestly don't have issues (unless the site actually crashes):

- use online, line ups are for chumps
- have barcodes saved in a notepad
- have credit card ready
- have account pre-created with ticketing website

Login to account 15mins beforehand. Wait in queue. Try on 2 different devices if you can. When it opens, copy paste across barcodes so don't have to type in. Select category you want and go with what you're offered straight away. The moment you back out and try to get better you're often at the back of the queue again, you won't get better seats.

Purchase. Rejoice.

Spot on. I couldn't believe the lines of people in Southern Cross to buy tickets in person. Get online.

Perhaps you could start a thread and see if you can trade up to a better seat with another supporter here. You never know, you might find someone who has a ticket they cannot use. Good luck

Previous years they've released more tickets closer to the match. I know last year we were spitting chips as some fantastic seats were released on the day of the match and the tickets we managed to get were pretty average. Buy we still go to enjoy a good win over North Melbourne either way :)

I learned from last year to use the app on my iPad this time. Got in straight away. I feel sorry for people who aren't able to use that technology, and prefer to line up. Ticketek or the AFL are at fault. They shouldn't release more than one final on the same day. Also, members should have all day to get tickets, rather than letting general public in at 2.00 p.m. There must be better ways to do it, but each year there's chaos, resulting in many unhappy people.

Should sticky this for next final as it is certainly the way to go. I couldn't get to a computer till a couple of minutes to 9am, however by about 9:20am I was in the system and able to select 3 seats in the western stand (AOFM) on the fence by the GWS dugout. Definitely have your credit card details stored in the website and have the barcodes ready to copy and paste in. Becomes a very painless exercise (but very frustrating if you don't know the tips and tricks of the trade.

Well done FantasticShirt on printing this guide.

Didn't the tickets all get released at the same time last year too, to universal abuse?

It's not like the games are this weekend, stagger the release times!!!

9am Thursday game
11am Friday game
1pm Saturday game
3pm Saturday game

There, that wasn't hard, where's my consulting fee?

Actually I think the fiasco was not actually knowing how much AOFM and Essential Crows adult tickets were actually going to cost. The site was suggesting $92 for the extra ticket you could buy, but nothing about the first ticket. It really was a surprise seeing the $75 listed when eventually buying.

I agree that Adelaide v GWS could have been a stand alone day followed by the Friday game and so on. There is a Bye so no need to rush to buy tickets anymore.

Poor execution but as long as Gill passes a KPI and he gets his bonus he wont care

I can't see why all season ticket holders can't be given first rights to their season seats. In fact it's a joke that they don't.

Correct. Should not be that hard. You have until some nominated time to purchase your normal seat and then what is left is available.

However the only issue here is if some of the normal seats have been allocated for some other AFL purpose (eg if we were playing a team other than GWS, then their membership would have earnt a greater % of the ticket allocation meaning you could not give all people their season reserved seat and therefore fairer that none can access?).

Sssshhhh. Now everyone knows!

Because the AFL allow Club Member to purchases 2 tickets for every member's bar Code
Which is crap. It ultimately means some people who pay through the nose to support the club all year miss out in the finals, so others can bring someone who didn't. Completely unfair bullshit system.

why should visiting team supporters get anything more than they get during the year? We earned it, our supporters should get reward for supporting our club.

The game will not be a sell out there will be tickets left over. All they did is allow member the option to sit with their friends,

I got in almost immediately, wanted two cat1 tickets, site kept telling me there were none available...at nine O'****ing clock in the morning.

Ticketek can GAGF.

1 and a half hours later I finally score a couple of beauties in cat3...yes cat3, but great pozzy, in the actual section I was asking for. This, after telling me there were no tickets available in this section, at least a dozen times, and to lessen the number of tickets, which would have been a single, but still said no tickets available.

Ticketek are shit and have been forever. AFL have to do something about this.
