Greetings,

My father and I are considering making the trip to Perth for the round 2 clash against WC. I haven't been to a game at Subiaco before but have heard about how it is pretty much full all the time, especially at West Coast matches, due to the huge amount of members.

What would be the best way to get tickets? We are both general admin members (I'm platinum, he's just crummy bronze :p ).

Cheers, and my God have mercy on us all.

this is easter weekend yea?

me and my missus will be in perth and i want to go to the game to, this thread interests me :)

I went last year, was a pretty good experience minus the flogging.....

Tickets were hard to come by, i went on holiday so didnt plan it, was just a coincidence.

Anyway tickets only went on sale the day prior to the game, maybe you can get them through the MFC but i think they wait for WC members to not take up there tickets then re-sell them.

As the stadium is fully ticketed or something

You're not wrong about Subi being full every week, it gets pretty feral over there!

I headed there with the gf a couple of years ago after we bought tickets through the Dees. I believe this is the page to go to once they release tickets - http://www.melbournefc.com.au/Membership/Ticketing/tabid/15988/Default.aspx.

They sat us behind the goals with the cheer squad and other Dees fans - I'm guessing mainly so we didn't get abused too much by the Weagles fans (we lost by something like 70ish points that day and I copped it all of the way out of the ground!).

Having said that, we had a great time and it's definitely worth the trip, have fun! :thumbsu:

Through the MFC website, you can email membership and they will let you know when they are available.

Platinum is after 20 years mate :P You'll be gold for a while yet! And it won't help you get tickets!

You know how they are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum?

Actually maybe it is gold...13 years?
Yeah I'm gold too (11 yrs), I just didn't know they had a platium but it makes sense 20+ yrs.

I'm thinking there'd be a few platinum members among us on BF.

Hi Guys,

First post here.
So to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if the gold/platinum status etc. applies to AFL members?

I have been an AFL Melbourne Club Support member for 20 yrs (started 92, so this will be the 21st season).
Probably 5 yrs ago or so, Melbourne sent out a club gold membership card with the AFL membership. Didn't have a barcode as access to games was via the AFL card, but it was Melbourne gold membership all the same.

I haven't received anything like that for about 5 years, and wondering what has changed, and what the gold, platinum etc. entitles the member to.

Aprreciate any help.
Cheers

I really like your bottom line syl.
It encapsulates my last 47 years of being a Dees supporter

Melbournemartin you are a terror for punishment going to the bear pit for another flogging.
I think Suby is only running second to Geelong as the place of punishment for the Dees.
Hope you have some other pleasurable things planned for the trip
Go easy on the "father" without him you would not be here!

AAMI isn't so good either

Gazza,

Was that the game were the MFC players bus got surrounded by eagles supporters after the match. That game was my girlfriends first experience at the footy. I grabbed her hand and pulled her down the race with 10 minutes to go. I was / am used to it, she was absolutely petrified.

Having said that, the eight years I lived in WA, I never had an issue getting tickets. When we beat em over there, it's great to watch everyone lose thier shit. When we lose, not so good.

It doesn't really change anything, the entitlements come with higher tiers of membreship, just a recognition of your continued club support.

If you bought a 3 game MFC membership to go with your AFL Gold, you would receive a platinum MFC membership.

Melbourne's membership department can be all over the place, I got duplicate and third memberships all the time up until this year...

As for getting the gold one 5 years ago, that's about the time the years of membership recognition was introduced, probably just a one off then.

Thanks Syl.

Tell me about it. They had multiple records for me as well.
I kept getting letters/emails asking why I hadn't signed up yet, when I had months previously.

I contacted them to resolve the issue, and they did so, by deleting the original record of being a member since '92 and keeping a duplicate record stating I was a 5 year member.

Anyway all sorted now.

Mate you're a glutton for punishment coming over here to watch us get flogged...

Try Joan Lawson (Western Demons - http://www.westerndemons.com/) - she might be able to help you out, but probably not until closer to the date.

As part of our membership as 'interstate members' we get a ticket included with our membership - she might be able to come to an arrangement with you if need be.

Tickets are about $50.00 each (knowing what inflation is like here, will probably be $60.00 next year) and we sit in a pretty average viewing area in the second tier of the stand behind the goals at the city end.

Gee mate you make it sound very attractive!
I will stoping looking for a cheap flight.
Foxtel must be very attractive to you non WA supporters

Haha it quite possibly was mate, that would've been a nice eye-opener for her :p

I know. Would rather tell it how it is however!

My main issue with the seats is they're in the same spot you'd pay $20 for at the MCG or Etihad.
