Am looking at attending this game, I am a Geelong and an AFL member, anyone know how to get tickets to this game. Looking for 6.

Good luck with that.

Members tickets and tickets given to the Perth Cats all went very quickly and club definitely has no more. Even tickets to their overpriced pre-game shindig all went quickly. Interest in the new stadium, the fact its not Subi and a lack of tickets given to us means it'll be very hard to attain any even if you're a member. Away teams were supposed to get 3000 or so yet the Cats only got 1000...hmmm.

Should protest for the game to be moved to the MCG if that's the case.

You might find some General Admission tickets go on sale closer to the date on Ticketmaster. Or maybe even Member Resales. Although as per above, they're likely to be snapped up quickly, especially by Eagles supporters that haven't been able to get memberships/seats due to the limitations of Subi.

And with GA you'll be surrounded by Eagles supporters. The venue changed but their IQs haven't.

So it turns out Geelong have only been given 500 tickets in total and that'll be the same for every team coming to Optus Stadium for an Eagles game this season because of the demand. So 0.83% of tickets to the game will go to visiting fans. Might change when after 12 rounds the Eagles are in 12th but hey.

Please tell me that Richmond has to play the Eagles over there

Thats hilarious...

PLEASE tell me the Tigers and Pies have to play over there.

500 tix out of 40k is bullshit however

Fair enough imo. They have members paying to be in line for seat allocations at some point in the future, so it would be silly to also have large away team allocations.

Makes me wonder if it's actually not big enough.

1 out of 2 ain't bad - bring on round 9, can't wait to see the crying from Richmond fans before & after the match:

I know Hawthorn used to do a ballot for games at Subi because of demand and the fact they have so many bandwag....I mean supporters. I understand there's a demand but 500 in the first season when everyone wants to see their team at the new ground? Come on..

It's very ordinary.
I remember reading somewhere that the idea was too set aside 3000-5000 tickets for visiting teams, then reselling any not taken.
Now I'm relying on friends too sort me out with seats.
Not impressed.

500 in a a50k seat stadium is total BS.

What it does open up, presuming the AFL endorse it, is us pretty much locking out opposition supporters as well.

If the club can sell those seats to GFC members, why not.

Im not fully behind it in reality - but if other clubs are allowed to monopolise tickets like that, why cant we?

A mitigating circumstance MIGHT be the fact Optus Stadium is not run by the WAFC and is independent so they have less of a say in who gets what but then this is better for their books. Still, so is Adelaide Oval and seem to have more for visiting fans.

Just to let everyone know, I found tickets through a company called http://www.travelandsports.com.au/ in WA. They have ticket and accommodation packages going - they are affiliated with West Coast Eagles and the WA State Government. You can purchase tickets in A Reserve, B reserve or C reserve. The staff are friendly, so if you are keen give them a try. We are staying at Crown Metropol and have A reserve tickets, if anyone is going let us know and maybe we can catch up for drinks and and a laugh prior.

Going to let the club know, as there is about 60 people on a waiting list at the moment.

Lastly I spoke to WCE today to confirm the relationship with TASA, and they advised that about 4000 GA tickets going on sale on Monday. So good luck if you are waiting for tickets.

The Perth Cats will be having their pre-game function at the Carlisle Hotel just down the road before the game. Everywhere else will be 'hahah 92 & 94 m8' drooling idiots.

For those interested the AFL has tickets available to the West Coast game for general public through Ticketmaster. Mostly top level and either restricted viewing or alcohol free seats, but given the Eagles membership numbers and limited number of tickets made available, get in quick if your interested. Just grabbed two tickets.

GO CATS!!!

GO CATS!!!

Just got 4 tickets , not quite nose bleed but Top level Row 9 on the wing
Definitely selling fast though - I read somewhere there will be about 6000 general admission tickets available per game
Bit more expensive than Subiaco but I dare say the game day experience will be infinitely better - no more losing 35 minutes to take a leak or buy a pie :)
