It's Heritage Round Mrs T, and TiFmedia has been a constant since Turbo was a boy.

The former EKA Medallist has just cruised past 200 games as a now 3 club veteran, and has amassed no fewer than 7 All-SFA selections since S30. In fact all 7 have been as a defender, which secures him a firm place in the backline here. He captained the Dragons to a flag in S32 during his 3 season stint at the helm, has a Frankston Rover Award to his name, and is a 3 time club BnF winner.
I'm sorry, but in what ****ing world is serial_dimwit an all-time legend?

TiF, I think the selection committee needs to be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

He's a 7 time All-SFA defender mate, you think he just sneaks his way into the team every season? 👀

Agent93
Wing

The former East Side Hawks skipper enjoyed a serious run of All-SFA form during the peak of his powers, racking up 6 All-SFA selections between S26-33. Agent led the Hawks during a transitional but reasonably memorable period in the club's history, and racked up over 200 games before crossing to the Warriors in S34. Was a TFLUA-Tiger Medallist the season prior in S33, and at the peak of his powers was one of the most influential and well respected leaders in the game.

Ant Bear
Centre
Former Admin Ant Bear is one of the most well credentialled players across either squad, having been arguably the form player of the competition at the end of the preceding era and throughout the S20s. A 5 time club BnF at the Rats, he captained the club for a 3 season stint prior to becoming admin in S27, is a 2 time Mobbs Medallist, a premiership player, beez Trophy winner, Frankston Rover Award winner and joined the HOF in S34. His 8 career All-SFA selections all came between S20-S28 during an era of total Swamprat engine-room dominance over the Mobbs.

philreich
Wing

His Swampies partner in crime philreich joins him in the centreline for the S21-40 side, another key part of the Swampies era of dominance he racked up 6 All-SFAs between S24-S33 in his 263 games at the Underground Stadium, culminating in two flags including a Deestroy Medal for best on in the S27 decider. Was the Mobbs Medallist in S28, spent 8 seasons as skipper of his beloved Rats with a revolving door of co-captains, and is a 5 time club BnF winner.

sausageroll
Half Forward

The forward line of the S21-40 side features the 3 top selection getters in All-SFA history, starting with the 3rd placed overall, Hawks veteran sausageroll. The 594 game, 6 club veteran has received an insanely good 9 career All-SFA selections spanning from all the way back in S9 and rolling all the way through to last season where he enjoyed arguably the best season of his extensive career, winning the Fred and TFLUA-Tiger(SFACA) Medals in addition to his All-SFA guernsey. He's got 4 premierships to his name across 3 different clubs, has 3 club BnFs and 3 leading goalkicker awards, captained the prehistoric Bombers in S10-11, finally became a Hall of Famer in S34 and currently sits 8th on the all-time goalkicking ledger.

The Filth Wizard
Centre Half Forward
Now to arguably the most credentialled player the game has ever seen. With a CV that puts okeydoke7 to shame, another former Admin (two times mind you) The Filth Wizard was the first player picked for the S21-40 side. With a prolonged period of dominance rolling right through the late S10s into the start of this era, Filthy is the definition of a modern great. He's a 2 time premership player leading both the Dragons and Royals to flags. Has captained 3 clubs across 11 seasons as a skipper, has an eye-watering 14 club leading goalkicker awards, 3 club BnFs, was the first player to win 2 beez Trophies, has a Fred to his name, joined the HOF a long time back in S25 and has an unrivalled 15 All-SFA selections spanning from S16 to S36 and has 5 more selections than the next player, setting a benchmark that is unlikely to ever be topped.

Blacky
Half Forward

The 280 game, one club player is a Royals great and long term former skipper, having led at Gold City for 5 seasons during an eventful period for the club. The namesake of the Royals' club leading goalkicker award was a recipient himself on 5 occasions, is a 2 time BnF winner, was the beez Trophy winner in S23 and was a key member of the famous 'stacked six' defence of the groundbreaking S30 Royals premiership side. Earned himself 5 All-SFA selections in a row between S21-S25 to secure his place in the side.

Blacky is a stretch. Must be just on All SFA alone.
It is. :thumbsu:

Plausible deniability, Wigs :)

I was going to call this 'The Great Debate' for that reason, but then muppets would just lob in here wanting to debate who would win a pillow fight out of Elon or the Zuck or some shit.

👇
The selection process was based on All-SFA selections, with some minor positional considerations sprinkled in based on where they were selected, or where they have plied their trade.
Now straight off the bat, yes there's some obvious and glaring omissions I know. I agree. 🧐

But rather than me offer a subjective TiFmedia biased team when I wasn't even here, we've chosen to select a baseline provisional side based purely on the All-SFA selections made during the era, which is completely objective on that basis.

This should then allow for some healthy and robust debate on who demands a spot in this side, and who should probably be omitted by comparison.

All SFA Selection is like All Aus selection

It's a load of shit.

You have great people that play themselves year after year in shit positions on field for the betterment of the club, that will never be considered. And then you have people like Ant Bear and The Filth Wizard who have always played prime possies and got themselves the tickets.

Great idea.

Flawed concept.

In my PRIME Sweet FA days, I agreed, for the storyline, to not play, so the story would be about me being omitted and the controversy.

Of course I don't win All SFA selection in that case.

Yet PosHogs get in. Unreal.

This was 'The Great Debate' part I was waiting for. These sides are flawed, yet objective based on what is supposed to be the 'best of the best' side each season. 🧐

Great idea.

Flawed concept.
The All-SFA side or this thread?

The former Admin and one time Furies skipper has racked up 312 games across 3 clubs, most notably his 192 stint at the hippodrome. Has won a Frankston Rover Award in S29, a club leading goalkicker award in S30 at the Wazzas and collected 5 career All-SFA selections between S25-S31 whilst at the peak of his powers.

Tarkyn_24
Full Forward
Another all time great and one of the few players to best Filthy in the accolades department, the games all-time leading goalkicker couldn't possibly slot in anywhere else than in at full forward in the team of the modern era. Tarks has 6 premierships to his name across 4 different clubs spanning from his first in S12 to as recent as last year's flag as a Hawk. He's a 3 time Fred Medallist, 1 time club BnF winner, 2 time TFLUA-Tiger Medallist, a Frankston Rover Award winner all the way back in S8, was a HOFer by S16 and an Immortal in S34. He has 10 All-SFA selections also ranging from S12-S39, captained both the Hawks and the Dees for a season, and has a whopping 14 leading goalkicker awards to his name.

Barrybran
Forward Pocket

The former Gumbies skipper and 253 gamer is now a 3 club veteran arguably most synonymous with his time reviving a faultering Gumbies outfit, after an impressive EKA win at the Bears where he debuted. Has almost completed the Sweet FA's EGOT, having won his EKA, a Fred Medal, a Mobbs Medal, a Frankston Rover Award and the beez Trophy in quick succession during a dominant run of form. Is a premiership player having broken the long drought at the House of Gumby, where he captained for 5 seasons, won 3 club BnFs and 2 leading goalkicker awards to go with his 5 career All-SFA selections between S26-S34.

How else would you decide it without wanting to impart your own bias? I'm Switzerland brother.
Impact on the league through a MIXTURE of awards.

Say, like, being one of only two people to be fire enough to win an EKA, but still win a beez later on, I dunno.

Media acknowledgement. Tenure in the game. Sheesh, how many ways can you count?

We're singing from the same hymn sheet Wigs.

This has long been my argument for why the All-SFA selection process is flawed. But the All-SFA is supposed to be the 'best of the best' isn't it?

Ruck

Slotting into the ruck is former Admin & Dragons skipper Hate, who sits 2nd on the Sweet FA's all-time hitouts standings. The 362 gamer is a 4 club veteran with 3 club BnFs to his name, a premiership all the way back in S19, a skipper for the next 3 seasons whilst winning a TFLUA-Tiger Medal in S20 and 4 Frankston Rover Awards (the most by any player in the history of the game). Ruck Rover
The long term Roys captain racked up 9 seasons at the helm down at the BJO, and as a one club player has over 400 games to his name for the 'rillas. Fitzy's a 2 time premiership player including being best on in the S25 decider and taking home the Deestroy Medal in the same season he won his Mobbs. 4th overall in the all-time Mobbs votes ledger, he's a 3 time club BnF winner, a 2 time leading goalkicker, he joined the HOF in S32 and has 5 All-SFA selections between S18-S25 when he was at his absolute zenith.

The former Warriors skipper has amassed 242 games as a one club player at Van Cortlandt Park, and slots into the customary rover position to round out the followers line. 3 time Frankston Rover award winner, 2 time club BnF winner, Mobbs Medallist in S32, 2 time beez Trophy winner and captained the Warriors during a 5 season stint at the helm. Has 7 career All-SFA selections from S27-S39 and became a HOFer in S38. No premierships tho.

S21-S40 All-SFA XX

And finally we arrive at the finish, with the second of our all-time Sweet FA greats sides... your S21-S40 provisional All-SFA side for your viewing pleasure.

Once again, there's probably even more glaring omissions in this time, and given most of those are probably still active and have a valid BigFooty account I look forward to seeing the discussions develop around who needs to come in, and who makes way. 🧐

This S21-S40 provisional side is again based purely on the All-SFA selections made during our modern era, which is completely objective on that basis. Flawed? Likely. Inaccurate? Probably.
There's also a handful of legends who spanned both generations during their peak, and can feel equally hard done by, but there had to be a cut off somewhere, and the only way to clearly define the sides without bias was to consult our 'best of the best' Sweet FA teams selected by our peers each season as the gospel.

Consider this now a changes thread, and hell I might even chuck up a poll if we get some strong discussions going for the ins and outs.

Don't come at me, I didn't pick these teams... you did!!
