Record membership, record sponsorship and record crowds have been the cornerstone of Richmond’s $4.1 million profit for the year ending October 31.
The Club generated total revenue of $92.6 million, a 16% increase year-on-year.
“This is another strong result and clearly our on-field success and loyal fans have underpinned this number,” Richmond President Peggy O’Neal said.
“Our football teams performed brilliantly and our fans gave them magnificent support - collectively it has put the Club in the most financially-stable position in its history.
“We also enjoy wonderful corporate support, particularly from our joint major partners Jeep and nib.
“Our subsidiary businesses Aligned Leisure and the Richmond Institute of Sports Leadership continue to grow and strengthen the overall financial health of our business.
“A clear vision for the business and high-quality management is also a pre-requisite if these results are to be delivered and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board, our CEO Brendon Gale, his management team and the staff for all their hard work.
The Club is debt free with cash reserves of $24.4 million.
“Importantly, we have achieved all this while playing a meaningful role in the broader community. Creating social value goes to the heart of who we are as a Club,” O’Neal said.
“The Korin Gamadji Institute (KGI) continues to empower young Indigenous people while the Bachar Houli Foundation has now been formally established, and will be embedded as part of the Club’s community program, cementing the legacy of a great Australian.
“Just under $300,000 has been raised this year for our preferred charity partner the Alannah and Madeline Foundation thanks to the wonderful support of our fans.”

Congrats to the whole club. Some years ago there was some who advocated that the club should focus on optimisation rather than growing the membership base (ie change members more even if that meant that the membership numbers did not grow). Others argued that growing the membership base would get bigger attendances and bigger viewership which in turn would lead to bigger sponsorship dollars, bigger merchandising sales. More supporters and members in turn lead to more youngsters and others getting on board the Tiggy train - and even more growth. Whichever way the club et al viewed it, they have done brilliantly.:thumbsu:🙌. Even won a couple of premierships while they were at it. :)

Cash reserves of $24.4 million
Fmd good luck getting any more government grants to re develop punt rd , me thinks we will have to build the *en joint ourselves , and at this rate , that shouldn’t be a problem . Nice work tigers , financial strength is an Imperitive to eternal success

The cash reserves are up nearly $10m from last year, that’s the better indicator than the profit number.
*en ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh, we only made 4m ok , we dont want the bloomin afl to start taxing us to fund the rest of the comp , I personally would have preferred cash reserves of 29 and declared a norf like profit of 700k , I’m sure they’ll mention that in the accountants appraisal for next time, Ive prob said too much already , there really is a lot of money in running shire swimming pools

We still have some pokies licences don't we?
Surely this shows that a great organisation like RichmondFC don't need them.
Time to ditch the pokies for good!

Can anyone who knows a bit about accounting explain to a dumb a...e like me how we increased our revenue by about $13M but our profit was the same as last year. Do they just store money somewhere ?? - RFC looks like a very well run organisation these days...

Profit = revenue - expenses
Generally it costs money to make more money. The trick is to spend less than you make, and that is profit.
