What a story.

Richmond development coach/Coburg senior coach, Tim Clarke, was caught up in the drama of the Boston Marathon bombing tragedy last week.
Clarke made a lightning trip to Boston following Coburg’s match against Williamstown on April 13 to compete in his third marathon.
It had long been a goal of his to run in the prestigious Boston Marathon and he ended up clocking the highly-impressive time of two hours, 34 minutes, 51 seconds (2.34.51).
After finishing the race, he went for lunch with some friends, one street away from where the bombs exploded.

Yeah the apparent intention was to get the main body of the field so I guess they figured that was about the time the main body would finish.
Shows you how above average his time was. I can't get over his time actually as a keen athletics fan considering I was bloody watching him on TV Saturday afternoon and then a flight to Boston, how longs that?
Shit that's incredibly impressive.
He hasn't been involved with Essendon has he?

Read that this morning - just incredibly lucky and fortunate he wasn't too close to the immediate bombing area. Was also very impressed with his time and the fact he could walk to grab a bite and then start walking back to the hotel. My legs would have been jelly if I could ever complete a marathon lol.

Hopefully he can teach the boys a thing or too about endurance running :thumbsu:

Holy smokes that is a quick time! That's sub 4 min km's.

I'll be having a crack at my first full marathon this year after doing a few half marathons in the last few years. I'll be stoked to crack 3:45.

What happened in Boston was an act of cowardice at the highest level.
