HAHA...Richmond were pathetic today....and I loved every second of it!! Time to put those brand new scarves back in mothballs!

9th here we come! The Tigers skills were woeful, I'd love to know how many turnovers they managed.

And Nick Daffy...get a hard ball you receiver...what a dud.

That whole game was a comedy of errors, by both teams & the umpires, the skill errors by all involved were disgraceful.
Going on that performance, I don't think either team will do anygood should they make the finals.
I know that the Hawks won by a large margin, but that was more the Tigers pathetic final quarter, than good play by the Hawks.

Grrhh Tigers, to think I tipped you.

Ahhh do you think the elements may have played a part? It had rained all morning and it p!ssed down at half time. Unfortunately there wasn't a roof.....

Funny how something always contributes to a loss against us. Whether it be a player going off injured (vs Carlton) Or a crucial umpiring decision(vs Melb & WB) Today it was the Tigers playing badly...Surely not because we played well and MADE THEM play pathetically.

GO HAWKERS!

To think it was just last week that people were saying the same thing about us.

They might have been woeful today, but i have no doubt that Richmond will be there in September.

Great win Hawks, I hope u can play like that for the rest of the season!

hrmm i actually thought our skills were pretty dam good, considering we had to tough it out in the wet like realy guys not like essendon playing in an air conditioned stadium.

hawks deserved to win because we wanted the ball more and our skills were BETTER.

go the hawks
go brett johnson!!!!

In Monday's paper Brad Ottens admitted that Richmond were over-confident.

On the weekend Danny Frawley suggested too many Richmond players were complacent.

Given Richmond's recent history I am astounded by that! Surely the players know better?

Hawthorn deserves all credit for being in front at 3/4 time and for playing at their best in an important match.

But the blow-out in the final quarter had a lot more to do with Richmond's poor effort than anything Hawthorn did. The players were simply unaccountable as soon as it was clear that they could not win.

Before the game, commentators were describing Bowden as being in "Brownlow winning form" - it clearly went to his head. Likewise Richardson and Ottens are getting ahead of themselves.

The result is not a disaster for the club. This week Richmond will regain three key players who were sadly missing on Saturday - an experienced ruckman (Gale) and two tough, hard-working and accountable midfielders (Kellaway [D version] and Hilton).

Furthermore it should be a wake-up call to Bowden, Ottens and Tivendale, who were all far too smug in the lead up to the game. It took a thumping to wake up Hawthorn - it may take the same to wake up the Tigers.

Richmond is still good enough to make the top four if their attitude improves.

Of course they are. Apart from Essendon, every other side has had more than one day this year which would have left supporters wondering where their next win is coming from. But such is the eveness and unpredictability of the comp (bar Essendon again), many of these sides have bounced back within a week.....the wheel turns very quickly these days....look at my boys last week....and then this week

I thought that the Tigers should have put the game away in the first quarter....and then when the rain came Hawthorn handled the conditions way better. The Tigers will bounce back, I'm pretty certain of that!
