Does Collingwood really think they own the first match of the year?
No, they know they own it. Personally doesn't bother me as it takes until round 3 or 4 for things to really fire up anyway.

The Tigers admin were a bit foolish if they thought the gate-keeping decision wouldn't bite back. Of course, if you are in a cashflow crisis then long term consequences are irrelevant!

So what. Let them play Brisbane. If they're not happy with just losing to the Lions in grand finals, they can enjoy also losing to them in Round 1 every year as well.

What pi$$ed me off in this article was Casey's comment below:

"We've had three (round-one) sellouts in a row since 2002 during times when we haven't made the eight - even when we're not travelling well we can still create a blockbuster with our enormous supporter base."

Another case of the administration taking the supporters for granted. Doesnt matter if we lose, our stupid members still pay their memberships, and our supporters will keep turning up. If the dud knew what he was saying, he'd realise that he is suggesting that the only way to get the administration to smarten up is the day members stop taking up memberships, and supporters find something less frustrating to do with their weekends. Until then, doesnt matter if we win 7 games a year, members will keep giving the club their money for them to mismanage.

And to think, Richmond had money problems and they were still throwing money at players like Solomon.

We were the one's who demanded all of the gate receipts. Of course Collingwood are going to look elsewhere

I actually heard the reasoning for the tigers not wishig to share...you see as richmond have 10,000 fewer members there will be many more reserved seats sold than there will be when collingwood hosts the game with a memebership of 35-40,000

Hence the booty will be much bigger in our home game than collingwoods...Who gives a rats clacker when we paly the maggots , the match always pulls a crowd no matter when it is , in fact the peaks of a few yrs ago when games where over 70,000 where not r1...and good call let the maggots get beaten r 1 each yr in BRIS
