He wasn't listed in the squad to play, didn't see him in any reports I've read so it's pretty safe to assume he wasn't playing.

David King will be on 3aw's pre match after 6 this evening.

Hopefully he'll give some insight into why the team faded in tat last qrt.

Maybe it was just a case of resting the senior/core players during that qrt to avoid the possibility of injury.

Were we beaten in the last, again.

Against a shyte team.

Bad sign.

It's a practice match! The game was over so why risk injury chasing % that doesn't even count. Don't blame the Tiges for Sheeds putting a second-rate side on the park. You've got to question why Sheeds would put his youngsters to the sword like that . You can only beat the opposition that you're up against and we thumped them as we should have by 12 goals.

cheers mate. hope he's back on track soon! ;)

I read a training report from Friday on PRE and it said he was doing a lot of running without noticeably limping so it sounds promising. Didn't take part in drills. Might be a chance for next week, should be a cert for round 1.

read on the rfc site that rodan has injured his knee. anyone know anything?

oh no, not good.

Richmond has defeated a vastly inexperienced Essendon outfit by 72 points before a healthy crowd at Morwell in Gippsland.

In a lop-sided contest, the Tigers 20.18 (138) defeated the Bombers 10.6 (66) after leading by as much as 87 points before the Dons found some form in the final term.

Essendon fielded what was effectively a second string team for the Wizard Regional Challenge Series match, with the Dons' absent list including James Hird, Matthew Lloyd, Jason Johnson, Mark Johnson, Adam McPhee, Scott Lucas, Adam Ramanauskas, Damien Peverill, Justin Murphy, Mark McVeigh and Dean Rioli.

Shane Tuck impressed for the Tigers, showing plenty of poise through the midfield, while Mark Chaffey, Kane Johnson and David Rodan also played well.

Rodan injured his right knee and was taken from the ground in the final term. He will have scans on Sunday.

Essendon midfielder Brent Stanton was among the Dons' best, finishing with four goals.

Understandable that we'd take our foot off the pedal in the last, apparently there was fair wind which the Bombers had at the end too.

From some of the comments in the main forum, some of you guys are embarrassing, gloating about a win like that, give me strength.

Dot.

Shane Tuck - Fantastic. Was BOG IMHO. Was in everything, best when in the middle, marks, tackles and good decision making. Couple of good set shots on goal.
Deledio - played another good one, mostly in the middle with spells on HFF, the kids got good vision and composure. Not frightened to go in either.
Simmo - Very good in middle and forward. Worth what we paid for him.
Sugar - got alot of the ball in both middle and back. Was very good at half back, where he provided run and composure. Reinforced his claim for the Captaincy.
Hyde - mostly in the middle and gave a solid workman like performance.
Brown - Solid performance all over without being spectacular. Best when forward.
Graham - Solid in defence. Far better than last week.
Richo - For mine should have done far better on inexperienced opposition. Kicked a few goals, but missed some easy marks.
Raines - Played middle and half back. Best in the middle showing clean hands and good decision making. Some good long passes into the forward line.
Chaff - Far better than last week. Solid, presented and contested well, ran very hard all day.
Rodan - Very good in the middle, hard in and under, got lots of the ball, went for a few runs, better decision making.
Krak - Solid performance in Forward and middle. Best as small forward. Contested well in the middle but got a bit lost at times. Appears to lose concentration.
Gas and Kella - both better than last week but still not flash.
Noble - Generally better all over than last week. Appeared more settled.
Tiva - Average performance. Should have done better given his opposition.

Good to hear Graham is back in defence, not interested in seeing him up forward.

This was Tiv's chance to pick up some form against poor opposition, I am starting to get a bit worried about him, he's been out of sorts for a long time now. I love seeing him when he's on his game so hopefully he will improve in the coming weeks.

As for Tucky, definitely playing for his career, great to see someone in that situation really lifting themselves. Pettifer likewise.

There is seriously something wrong with Tivendale. Arguably our best kick, more often than not, he either handballs, or kicks short. He should be kicking 50 metre bullets through the middle. If he played like Tuck (just bombing it long and forward), he should be fine. Frustrating player. Probably low on confidence, but should have used today's game to build it up.

yeh it makes u wonder...

Yeah i was at the game and it was windy however coming off a lose to Collingwood by 7points last week we really had to come out and play well which they did and beat Essendon by 10 goals or more looking at the scores we did that. PLEASE NOT ESSENDON why have a practise match when you dont play some experienced players what a joke. Zantuck did not even play and he should be one player they should play to see if he is up to the challange being his first year at a new club and all.

Over all a very good hit out and Krak whats the go with him out run by Richo and looking very bloody slow for someone that was meant to be fast.
