Geelong supporters accept the situation. What we can't accept is the ultimatum to go to the Eagles. if the family situation was that important he wouldn't care which WA club he plays for as long as he was 'home.'
No.

Again people need to stop and think about the situation not as a club supporter.

Why should anyone work for an organisation that is the wrong fit as opposed to the best fit?

So that the Cats get a better draft pick? Like really?

Sorry but that not how life works.

Why should the Kelly's move and work for a club they don't want to?

So Cats supporters are happy! So Geelong gets a pick 5 spots better in the draft? Five spots! Like really?

This isn' life or death it' football and entertainment.

you need to wake up, this is the AFL.
this is not a normal work situation, as there are only 2 clubs in WA, and without Victoria there would be no AFL.
you are owned by the AFL
no-one forced kelly to nominate for the draft, and with that collect seriously good coin in his first year
but as soon as he nominated for the draft he knew the rules
the club have spent serious coin on him

do you know how life works - you work hard and reap the rewards
you might want to be a mining engineer in victoria, but guess what there arent too many jobs in vic

Didn't realise so many Geelong list managers posted on Big Footy. Still confident a deal will be done, it will be a compromise and those fans wanting a top 10 pick, two first rounders and Brander will be disappointed.

Going to be interesting to see what deal they will give us as it looks like Gaff staying ( credit to him in staying thou)
The band 2 Lycett compo pick will be 19.

4 picks higher than what most reasonable value Kelly at.

5 picks lower than what was used last year to get Kelly in a stronger draft.

Pick swaps in 2019 possibly needed.

I' wide awake.

You seem to be tossing toys out of you cot at an alarming rate.

For what. A five pick upgrade from 19 or 20 down to 15?

Really?

People on here need to grow up and get in touch with reality.

What about swapping our 3rd rounder with your 2nd rounder?

At this stage, just get him out. Yes there is no Gaff compo now, but just offer Lycett compo (around 22-24 or so) and West Coast first around 22 or so. Send back one of our third round picks (47) and be done with it. It's not a first round, but it's good enough. People were saying Gaff compo with 1st next year and future second coming back was about right. This is pretty similar.

Band 2 compo is a second round pick I’m pretty sure. Right after your original pick 37 (2nd Round)I’d say.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
Band 2 is end of first round.

Anyway, it was pick 20 and 37 we were looking at trading to Sydney for say 13 to give them a points bump.

Correct. Every time I read this thread Scotland is posting crap.
Gives the rest a bad name.
Thanks for the '@'. I'm sorry, are your feelings hurt?

You know you have a club board echo chamber where you can convince yourselves that you'll get two top 5 picks and Yeo and McGovern for Kelly, right? Alternatively you can just not trade him ever and re-draft him every time he tries to leave, if you think that's the best strategy. Because, you know, that happens all the time...

This board has people who have differing viewpoints to yours. And for all the bluff and bluster nothing said here will influence any actual trades that occur.

Can Eagles afford Kelly with Gaff now staying.

Arent they also after either Tom Hickey or Jordan Roughead?

If they get Kelly and one of those 2 ruckmen, they are in a good position keeping Gaff as well.
