I know that.

But my point is imagine what her life in Geelong will be for the next year if Geelong don’t trade and Kelly doesn’t extend. Geelong fans already know it’s the wife.

You don’t need a lot of people to do it but if she goes to shops and if she cops the abuse such as on Facebook this thing will get out of control.

and no doubt it will involve some racial words-because that’s just how people are Geelong or otherwise.
You dont reckon there would be some moron freo fans in Perth that would do the same.

Where are you getting 19 and 20 from? Also our second is prob around 28-30 next year so yeah what a trade that is. Assuming you get pick 20 for Lycett we get that and a 4-5 pick slide. I’m in
Lycett compo and the pick we have already?

We would on trade whatever pick you give us for Tom Hickey anyway so wouldn't matter too much for us.

I think if we get pick 19+20 for Kelly and Hickey it's a win

Picks 4 and 5 from freo are going for Hogan.
Freo have nothing more..Geelong fans why do you keep suggesting them when all they can offer is pick 70 odd.

Freo dont have anything to even construct any sort of side deal really.

If Tim stays at Geelong next year I think you will be surprised at she would be treated. People can be different when they are not behind the safety of a screen. Who knows she could spend more time in WA than Geelong next year. I think you’ll find people would be less upset about him going when he has seen out his contract.

The **** are you on about?

His 2018 value is irrelevant because he's not up for trade. He's not a bargaining chip or currency or any other descriptor. He's just a player on our list that we drafted last year. We picked him at 13 because we rate him. We contracted him beyond his initial two years because we rate him. If you do/don't that's cool.
Ha ha I think ppl rate him. Just most ppl see him at best as equal value to Kelly. Hence very logical to ask. Most actually see Kelly as worth much more.

Geel would be absolutely negligent in there duty not to be speaking to his management regardless of what the all mighty WC think. You can trade players you rate ‘expert list manager’ and ones that are contracted. The exact same thing happened to us when we tried to lure Deledio. Lost a player that had just bought a house within the month! Hopefully at least some lessons were learnt in that complete shyte show.

Geelong are keen for Sean Darcy, so they have something we want.

Are Fogarty and Constable worth chump change?
Nah I wouldn’t trade them for Dom Sheed. 5 game wonder. Not sure he’ll even make our team. No way. That’s a joke. Are you insane. Those kids are the future. The next Selwood and Dangerfield when they retire at the end of 2019. Stephen Wells is the trade guru. Trust us we know how to draft talent. Best in the business at picks after 20.

Geelong FC (not nuffy fans) should be asking about every talented young Victorian we have, I would. History says best 22 players from successful sides are very hard to shake loose. If you wanted to convince someone like Cole or Duggan to leave you'd probably have to offer them a big pay rise which I don't think Geelong would do. An older player like Schofield or fringe player like Nelson don't have that much appeal.

Just like Geelong rate Kelly highly, WC rate many of our players highly and so far none of those players have requested to return to Victoria after one year. Brander, Allen and Ryan (our 3 picks before Kelly) all re-signed for two years beyond their draftee contracts which would suggest they don't want to be traded. We could put any of them up for trade but that would be pretty stupid as it would be Geelong putting Kelly up for trade.

Correct I am not, but 99% of the football world are irrelevant, including you and I.

You could start a Kelly vs Brander poll and 99% of people would probably say Kelly which is fair enough. Most people who don't support WC have probably never heard of Brander.

But the people responsible for WC list management picked Brander and Allen last year as part of a strategy knowing that Kennedy is 31 and Darling 26. That counts for a fair bit and they are the ones looking at trade options for Kelly.
This argument cuts both ways though. I would of thought the fact the people in charge of coaching and match selection at Geelong in 2018 thinking Kelly had the second best year of any player on their list means more than a media release at the time of the Brander draft selection. Either way it wont change the very basic fact that West Coast current first two current picks at the draft will be miles off tempting Geelong to make a trade. To actually use the logic that the people in charge of the football would have a greater understanding of a players worth to a team. From the Geelong perspective Kelly did what he did after one AFL preseason. Imagine what he'll do after two and what his trade value will be if that happens in the very likely event that tim improves his output next year.

Like talking to a very solid brick wall. Target the one you want not the spare wheels you are offered. List management 101.

Rich played us on a break when we strolled in and targeted one of their best. Offered up an average pick whilst they asked for and targeted a long term contracted player they really needed who’d just bought a house that month and literally just done the clubs next years website photos. Of course we said no way. Not a chance.

Until they Pushed all his right buttons. Maybe Geel could get his old school mates to call, bit of a pay rise, the dream of more game time. Who the F$:& knows but let’s not bother as you’re right it’s impossible to happen.

You are a Freo fan, what are you going to put on the table to bring Kelly to Freo?

You have pick 5 and some Victorian players. Brayshaw, Cerra, Darcy, Langdon, Ryan... Who/what would you give up?
