No. If you wanted a specific player you could have had the draft picks this year. You’ll get bugger all next year
Keep telling yourself that.

Yet why is Shiel allowed to just nominate Essendon. Come on, every player does it. Kelly is being unfairly singled out. Other players and trades are given a positive spin.
So we run purely on facts here.
The compensation pick for lycett counts as a first round pick. The second round pick on offer in this years draft is the second highest value second rounder available. On top of that Geelong wanted next years first round pick.
So Geelong wanted 2 first round picks and the second highest value second round pick in this years draft (which is considered to be the strongest in some time)
Even if you want to spin it in Geelongs favour.
That is pick 18,20,22 for a guy with major family issues who they picked up in the draft 12 months before hand for pick 24. They are within their rights to ask what they want but anyone trying to suggest they acted in good faith to get Kelly home or asked for reasonable compensation is a first class *******. The fact is they didn't give a flying **** about Kelly's situation and only wanted to do a deal if it was exceptionally in their favour.
Also remember they were dealing with West Coast, one of two clubs along with Hawthorn renowned across the league for getting deals done without fuss and paying a fair price.
Next year watch as the offer that gets done is West coasts first for Kelly and Geelongs second.
And yet Sam Mitchell broke his contract with WC for similar reasons and is being celebrated for it by the media.
Huge double standards.
Sounds like you are the one making stuff up.
Both were one year into a contract, both were given a start in their jobs by respective clubs, both performed well and both wanted to leave due to strains on their relationships and family life.We are trading coaches now??
Weird how it’s a double standard when there is zero trading involved with coaching. Coaches don’t have currency to be floated or need to have trades arranged for an exchange.
Nah, Geelong is just staffed by low rate human beings. Wells and Scott aren't quality people and it show in their approach.Actions speak louder than anything else.
If family was his priority he would have accepted the trade arranged to Fremantle.
I’m sure Ross and himself could have made up over a cup of coffee for whatever little insignificant thing hurt Tim’s feelings 12 months ago.

Difference is, WC let Mitchell break his contract and you are right, got nothing in return for it. Wells the ******* scumbag, held onto Kelly because it didn't help the opposition and he got a year from a good player on the cheap.
Now Mitchell said he was leaving for a job at Hawthorn, we could have held him to his contract and set him up with our Victorian division, instead we released him to coach where he wanted. One club had integrity, one didn't.
See these are examples of top quality melts. Fantastic stuff. Its ok I have been reliably informed that Vic clubs do not need any morals, values or human decency.
This only applies to non Vic sides
Better still using some twit logic you can somehow blame the interstate side for your woeful conduct
After you use him for a year be sure you trade him to a club he hates. Just so he is under no illusion you think he is a piece of crap

Auto correct for wc.This is some next level stupidity, grow a brain.
Who is we? Says you support Essendon.

Still can't believe WCE didn't pay enough to bring the poor bloke home...
Definitely not.Lol La Dolce Vita and HurleyHepsHird are the same person. The melts are tasty today.
I wonder if you'd care so much about Tim Kelly's family if he wasn't any good at football?Still can't believe Geelong are going to put a family through another year of hell after so many other clubs showed compassion to get players back to Geelong
It will not be forgotten
Much like 92 & 94 is not forgotten
